iTunes 11.1 doesn't recognize my iPhone 4s with IOS 7 - phone is charging by iTunes doesn't see it. Any suggestions?

I upgraded my daughter's iMac to iTunes 11.1 and now it doesn't recognize her iPhone 4s. The phone will charge and DropBox see's it but iTunes doesn't. Any suggestions? I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the software so that doesn't work. Thanks for any help!

I chose to wait until I got to the UK to go to the store where I bought the phone..... Had an appointment with the genius..

He looked at the thing that you insert the cable into to see if there was any damage which he said can happen when there is an update done (I have no clue how that would work).... No damage was found and my phone remained a mystery to the Apple guy so he gave me a brand new phone.

Good luck and hope the apple store is as nice to you as they were to me... It was highly irritating when it wouldn't connect.

Hi, I'm still having problems with looking for the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver.

I've attempted step 5 from what Jerry had mentioned and also other recommended steps. Unfortunately I still cannot find the driver. It appears in my list of programs yet it's still no where to be found. Please help? Is it possible to install this driver manually? 😢

I ran into this problem last night when i upgraded to the newest itunes 11.1.4.

I have the iphone 4s. after thinking it was the iphone i just recieved, because as everyone with the 4s has come to relize when you update to the new 7 os it grays out the wifi, which then you cannot connect to any wifi.

Just for another info update, they say its the phone, but if your fortunate enough to have a back up in itunes, you CAN erase the iphone and regain the ability to reconnect to wifi. problem is when your phone wants to activate, at least with my Verizon service , it makes you update to the newer version and guess what... wifi will not work again (greyed out)

Back to what i was explaining about last night. I plugged my iphone to my computer, as i always do, and the itunes reconized and open the app. At that point i got the pop up window that advised of an update and so i said ok and updated to the newer version of itunes. After update it tells you that you have to restart your computer.

Now here is where your problems will begin! Again i thought it was the dang iphone messing up again. I spent hours trying to get itunes to reconize my iphone. No Luck. I started out trying to reset the networks, and eventually reset the whole iphone to factory conditions.

To make a long story short, i about gave up, then i thought. let me try one more thing, I went into system restore and restored my computer to a week earlier, which also reinstalled the older version of itunes....guess what? IT RECONIZED MY PHONE AGAIN! Just to test my theory, i opened up itunes and let it update the software again...well you can just guess what happened right? it did not reconize my iphone again.

So word to the wise, dont update itunes if you have the 4s...but if you updated itunes and it does not reconize your iphone 4s, and you have the ability to restore your computer to an earlier version, (dont forget to back up your data just in case), that will re-enable the communication and keep you from the hours of frustration trying to figure out what went wrong.

Apple is really commiting suicide in my opinion, i really like the iphone, but lately its like the three stooges are back there running the show!

After trying everything remotely possible after iTunes quit recognizing my iPhone after the 1.11.4 update (both USB and wifi), I finally figured out what the problem is: the newest version doesn't update and install the device drivers!

After following the instructions and installing the device driver, iTunes now recognizes my phone again.

Guys & Dolls...

Had the same problem, then I just did this and it works fast & perfect (at least for windows 8)...-

1. Go to left corner down, right click - choose Programs & Features

2. Uninstal : iTunes, Apple mobile device support, Apple application support & Apple Software update (these 4 programs - features)

3. Restart your computer

4. Instal iTunes

5. Connect device, should be fast recognized

You´re welcome 🙂

Still having a problem with iTunes and my 4s, it's not that the MacBook and iTunes doesn;t recognise my phone, it just won't sync anything to it, no matter what cable I use. I am suspicios that this is a concious decision by Apple to force hardware updates.

To add insult to injury, last night my 4s had a touch screen failure, had to do a restart with the buttons, when it came back on all my music had gone, all 32Gb of it, gone, puff, like Keyser Soze.

So now have a phone with no music that will not sync with iTunes, great!

Until a couple of years ago, never had problems with apple products. Now I seem to never not have a pesky, non-existential problem that takes an inordinate amount of time to fix. it's beginning to smell more and more like Microsoft. My macbook pro isn't recognizing my 'brand new' Iphone 5. It's been a month now and no solution presented works. I don't want to try the 'nuke 'em from orbit' solution. It all seems down to Itunes.

Im just ... I have a 2011 macbook air and a iphone 4s which just refuse to be reconized by itunes. Cleaned the pins in the connecter, tried on a windows computer, tried safemode as well, but nothing is working. The thing is, that apple doens't seem to be working on fixing this as well! This should allready be up and working with a hotfix or a new itunes, but instead im stuck with a malfunctioning iphone which cannot handle having no freespace to work in (that was my original problem, i wanted to free some space on my phone so i connected the iphone, but it just doesn't seem to reconize it). The phone keeps crashing when i open apps!

GET YOUR BUTS MOVING APPLE! this equipment hasn't been cheap and this is the thing i expect from you, to have proper working software, that is why i choose apple in the first place!

excuse my english. Im from Denmark 🙂
