My wall charger was working, I plugged the usb cable into my computer, synced up, charged a while, then went back to the wall charger, and it isn't charging.
Tried resetting....wall charger is not hot or anything...all cables are secure....
iPhone still charges when attached to the computer.
Well, this is weird how different Apple store handle things differently. I went to the Apple store at Pasadena, CA to swap a dead charger, I was told I had to wait inline to do paper works.. etc, and the line was long. So, I left to come back another day. Then, I was in Glendale Galleria, and I stop by the Apple store then to see if the line was long. They just gave me one on the spot, no question, no forms..
NOTHING.
Ditto on all counts. Mine worked fine for a month. Last night it was plugged in at my boyfriends house and charge beautifully. Came home, plugged it in and now it won't work. Still charges fine from the laptop. Swapped out the prongs with the set from my macbook. No dice. On my way to the apple store, 10 bucks says they get it to work no problem.
Swap out was easy and painless, no paperwork. This despite the fact that the charger starting working again at the store. This leads me to believe that apple is aware of the problem.
Add two of ours to the list. Both our charges stopped working on a vacation this weekend. Both at the same time.... luckily USB ports exist all over and I was able to charge our phones..
I had the same issue, narrowed it down to the wall charger, and then brought it into the Apple Store. When they tried it, it of course worked. The problem was that they would not replace it. The 'genius' said to reset the phone and try it again later. Now the phone is in Arizona, and there is no Apple Store anywhere near here. This blows.
Add me to the list. I swapped the plug with a friend and the craddle worked fine. Also swapped his plug with mine on the brick and it did not work so it looks like it is the brick. I'll try plugging and unplugging the USB wire to see if that helps as someone suggested. Otherwise it is back to the Apple Store.
i had the same issue... but it worked in iowa, went to wisconsin to visit my sister and the charger did not work. now, probably just a coincidence, it just stopped working in iowa after the 1.0.2 update.
I had this issue happen last month with my iPhone charger and then just yesterday with my wife's. In both instances, they were replaced on the spot, without me having to wait for a Genius to tell me it's not working. I appreciated the quick turn-around. They must be aware that that there's a few bushels of bad apples here.
I had the same problem 3 x. I checked the usb wall charger for voltage, nothing, changed cable, nothing. cable assemblies are good. Was told I could call or take back to apple. Well, I tried testing them again so I wouldn't look like an idiot, Both of the USB wall adapters I thought were bad now worked. Still working. I suspect something internal. Can't fix what's not broke!
I just got my iPhone and will be taking the wall charger in today. For the last two nights I have plugged my phone in before going to bed to charge on the wall charger and when I wake up the battery indicator isn't completely full, but the battery in the top right corner shows the plug saying it's fully charged. I removed it from the wall and the battery then shows about 20% missing. I just plugged in the iPhone to the computer and restored it, and now it is charging up on the computer perfectly fine.
