Problems with IMAP

Hello.
After Leopard clean install, Mail.app does not download any message from my IMAP server.
It downloads only folders, shows nothing inside.
Worked very well in tiger, works well in any other mail client under windows or OSX.

Mail server is on windows server2003, i dunno what program is used for mail server.

Connection doctor shows no problems.
Getting account info, it lists all my folders and shows they correct size, clicking on folder and "show messages" opens new window with no messages.

Having about 1,2GB and 50 folders, 5k+ emails.

24" iMac, Mac OS X (10.5)

It's a Halloween miracle! I guess it is the time of year when Voodoo actually works. I "only" had to do the following to get things working:

(Just to test, I selected Rebuild from the Mailbox menu first, then...)

1. I quit Mail 3.0. I then renamed the Mail folder to Mailx in the Users/Library folder.
2. I then started Mail 3.0 to see if doing that would fix the problem. I believe I selected rebuild, but nothing really happened (rebuild was grayed out, inactive).
3. I then quit Mail 3.0 and started it again.

All of a sudden, I started getting messages. It seems to have worked!!!!

Thanks so much for this!! (using older version of MDaemon)

I spent a good 4 hours trying to figure out why all our office IMAP accounts has seemed to stop working since installing Leopard. We all use Spamsieve and Leopard mail disables this on install. We found that the Spamsieve rule which remains active even after the Spamsieve plug-in is disabled was downloading and moving ALL mail into the Spam folder. To resolve the problem, we checked that everyone had Spamsieve 2.6.4 and reinstalled the plug-in (which doe work with Leopard) and sorted out all the good mail in the spam filter.
IMAP now seems to be work fine with IDLE and SSL unchecked.
We use Jumpline as our host.

Well f**k me with a massive stick, this really works.... 🙂 I spent hours trying to figure out what the **** was causing this, and this method really works. It's currently downloading 4000 emails...which is more than it has done since the 26th.

I can get rid of that nasty mozilla junk Thunderbird now. 🙂
So it's something to do with the import of your previous settings if you already have populated mailboxes....I will keep you updated on how well this actually works....and for how long.

Why is the Subscription List window never populated with folders to subscribe to?

Although I'm no longer experiencing any issues with my Gmail IMAP account, two accounts associated with another host continue to demonstrate syncing problems. Mail sent from these two IMAP accounts using Mac Mail never appear in their respective sent folders—they don't appear in Thunderbird either.

Yet mail sent from Thunderbird using these two accounts will show up in the respective sent folders of both Thunderbird and Mac Mail.

In the attempt to resolve this issue a support representative has requested I re-subscribe to both accounts, but I can't subscribe because there are no folders listed I can subscribe to.

I just noticed this too! Mail that wasn't showing up before is now showing up, I didn't notice that it was missing really, so now I'm convinced that this really is the fix for the IMAP issue. I guess when installing Leopard the IMAP account info that was previously there doesn't transfer over properly to the new system, I'm sure that's not very technical but that's basically what it seems like.

So I managed to get my folders to show up, but they all still have exclamation points next to them. Furthermore, in this process, somehow I lost folders on the server from two email accounts. I checked via different email clients, and they're gone. Totally blows.

Now I'm trying to grab synchronized emails from my MacBookPro that hasn't been updated to Leopard and move those emails onto my MacPro that's whacked out.
