iPhone on O2 UK...

Hi Folks,

I understand a few of you seem to feel as if there is not enough information available.

Most info can be found on the O2 website.

Anyone who has any questions relating to the iPhone, feel free to ask...

I do currently work for O2, and i am fully trianed on the iPhone.

Please remeber: Any information i give is to the best of my knowledge, and no response by me is that of O2 UK.

The iPhone will be 'launched' from store's at 6. 02 pm.

U will have to be 18.

The shop will process your order, but activation f your iPhone will be done online by yourself.

With regards to EDGE, at the moment, although O2 has an EDGE network, O2 customer service do not have a tool to assess coverage.

This tool is expected to be in place by launch.

I've got mine!! 😀 woo- hoo!! if you're on o2 with CPW, there is a PAC on the T&Cs at the bottom

Drove down to my local O2 store in Leamington Spa at 6pm and there was only 15 people in line!
So had my phone within 10mins!
Excellent....activation only took a few minutes, no delays.
Plus my O2 number ported over instantly!

Got mine also yipeeeee.

Only a handful of people in the queue here, and I was out of the store by 6.15.

My only gripe so far that it doesn't have a standard phone ringing sound. I'm not really a fan of the fancy ringtones.

Got to my local o2 store at 7pm, only a few people in looking. I was straight in and out in under 10mins. Loads of stock. Activation took under 15mins, just waiting for the sync now!

I tried Old Phone, but am not really keen on it. I know I sound fussy but I like the sound my nokia makes, but hey it's not going to stop me loving the iPhone any less.

Went to my O2 store in cheltenham at 3.30pm & 3 people were queuing, So I was 4th in line.

O2 provided Coffee & snacks for all of us which was good of them

About 30 people in queue at 5.45pm, O2 opened doors at 6pm to allow local press to photograph 1st buyer, Got mine at 6.03 & was out by 6.05

Activated at 7.15, number ported over with in 5 minutes, Excellent service.

No Ringtones option though 😟

Got to the O2 shop about about 6.20pm, three people in front of me at the checkout, out quite quickly. Activated the phone on iTunes about 7pm, no delays at all.

I'm amazed they ported the number instantly - I'm glad I switched over from Vodafone to O2's Simplicity plan last month in preparation.

well it's slow for me, upgrading an existing o2 account "O2 is now processing your activation." Didn't get the transfer text, o2 say there are problems for existing customers 😟

Am not sure if the £7.50 a month is worth it.

Hey Fella , u seam in the know so i will ask this, i bought a iphone from the states egerly awating it 2 be launched in the uk so today i plug it in and i only get atnt no o2 activation am i ****** or is there a way round this ? i did not buy the phone from o2 but want 2 sign up 2 there network ???? thanks tom

So much for O2 and Apple having put measures in place to avoid activation issues, 3 hours now and still getting server busy messages. Rubbish planning.

You need an O2 iPhone SIM card. I would ring O2 customer services and ask if they can arrange that for you. There really shouldn't be any reason why they wouldn't be willing to do this.
