iTunes 7.6 problems

I upgraded to iTunes 7.6 today. Now when I try to access the iTunes Music Store, iTunes hangs in the middle of accessing the store. It becomes completely unresponsive. Not even a force quit works to kill it, so far I have only been able to restart the system to make the program quit. I will see if I can find the process and kill it with a kill -9, but to this point version 7.6 appears to not be able to access the iTunes store on my computer. Anyone else with this issue?

Sounds to me like Apple may have released some software that wasn't quite ready yet. Wouldn't be the first time, but usually they are better than this.

iTunes now longer works on my computer with the 7.6 update, which is very aggravating since it has become my media hub. I thought it was due to an iPod syncing, but that doesn't matter. After being open for a half a minute at most and switching between tracks the program freezes. For music, the audio still plays, but you have no control and the UI freezes. For video, it sputters, stops playing, and then freezes up. All situations can be aborted with a force quit, but restarting has done nothing so far. I'll try a few more things...

I hope they find what's going on fast because all of my music, movies, even my iPod syncing is inaccessible or useless.

After reviewing the hundreds of 7.6 complaints FINALLY my problem has been corroborated...iTunes keeps relaunching automatically, about 5-10 seconds after I quit the program.

Because of this, it won't let my system shut down. I'm afraid at this point, though, of shutting the whole system down anyway as it seems that iTunes is going to cause rebooting problems as well.

I'm a dumb musician, new to Macs, and can barely find the ON button, this is my first major problem with my mac and I'm scared!!!!

I have the exact same issue as jbulava. This update to 7.6 was a disaster. Anyone have any thoughts on why iTunes is freezing after about 30 seconds? It still plays music in the background, but the GUI is no longer accessible (clicking on the taskbar does nothing). The memory usage is in the 110k range, and it's using about 5-10% of my CPU.

Thanks in advance for any help...

Add me to the list of bummed-out iTunes users. The CD drive does not play music properly with 7.6-0 lots of skips like the other users who have written in. I tried to download an older version (7.5)but the files were always empty. I wish I could at least get an older version from somewhere while they fix the problems with the new one. Anyone know where to find one? The oldapps site downloads didn't work.

Im having probs with this version aswell lap top wont even play i tunes now cant access anything . it keeps saying problems caused by quicktime , really annoyed because its been working perfectly with the old version , and now i cant even use that. Ive just tried to install it on my main pc aswell so i think its going to do the same.
When i try to access the ipod+itunes section in IExplorer my laptop just stalls and wants to restart internet explorer, but it only on their site and keeps saying a quicktime prob.

THANKS APPLE youve really stuffed it up for me now.

Have you tried to update Quicktime?

On another note:
I am having problems with Front Row. iTunes works fine, but the songs don't show up in Front Row now. It all started when I upgraded to iTunes 7.6, Front Row says I need to use iTunes to import or buy songs. I don't think it is Front Row because my pictures from iPhoto show up fine... Do I need to update my Front Row software? Then would I have to update iPhoto? Please help me!
