error -9838

this means the server is busy.

ok right-click then sync and you can sync apps that are already installed on iTunes. If you're like me and just bought some from the App Store on the iPhone you can right-click the iPhone in iTunes and select transfer purchases to transfer the purchases you've made from the iPhone back onto your computer.

i just rang apple as my iphone got 2 error messages while trying to download 2.0 so i restored it i did everything it told me too, now i have a iphone with slide to emergency and the usb to cd, apple said itunes is down and 2.0 not available till tomorrow, as it recognises my iphone but the main screen is a blank screen with just the word iphone written on it, apple told me to keep trying every 30 mins but basically its gone mental the whole world is trying at the same time to do two things, update to 2.0 and activate their iphone 3g's and it cant cope....good old apple NOT...so fingers crossed it works soon but dont bet on it

I just got off of the phone with iPhone tech support. (had to use my landline!)

After a 20 minute wait, I got to talk to Ashley. She said there are 1100 people on hold and everyone she talked to so far is having the same "accessing iTunes" problem.

She said DO NOT disconnect your phone. Intead, when you get the message saying it timed out, click ok. Then click on any other heading, Music for example, in your itunes. Then go back and click on your iPhone icon.

Keep doing this repeatedly to keep your place in line.

I did this for the past 10 minutes STRAIGHT through and I am now done!!! Honest to god! I dont know how to do screen shots or whatever, but I'm done.

FYI...I called off sick! I thought I was done earlier and was about to leave when the whole "accessing iTunes" debacle began!

I am now the proud owner of the new Apple iBrick (it was one an iPhone, now it's just a desk ornament). I am glad to know that I can use it to call 911 after my office co-workers collapse from laughing at the useless Apple rollout procedure.

Best comment of the day from the guy in the office next door --- Vista may be a bad OS, but at least it never trashed my cell phone. Can't say the same for Apple!
