Roll back to 4.9, problems, 5.0 is a disaster!

I foolisly cliked yes to the upgrade to 5.0. There are multiple problems with this and I dont know why Apple subjects us to them. I cannot waste time with it. The worst problem is with my Linksys wireless router, it now does not work. So no internet support, I am doing this from work! There are other problems too, just read this forum. I re-insatlled 4.9 off a disk but it wont open cause "library is made with newer version"
Please can some-one give me clear instuctions on how to fix this problem, so I can use 4.9 which worked fine with NO PROBLEMS. This is ridiculous. I think this solution must be here somewhere, but cant seem to find it!
Bottom line.....DONT upgrage, it not worth it at all!

I just reinstalled iTunes 4.9 and got all of my playlists back but i'm still getting the 'reinstall itunes' message when i plug my ipod in. does anyone know how to fix this?

Yup I did, and I even did a format on that drive. Whatever happen latched itself on a sector and wouldn't let go. I finally had to go buy a new HD and use the original as an external USB drive.

Success at last !!!!!! Like so many of you I have spent many nights this week trying to sort out my tunes after down loading V5 and not being able to play itunes.
After following so many recommendations from all you wonderful people. I finally removed decided to remove itunes and quick time.
Found the original disc that came with my ipod and re loaded that om it is version 4.2.
So it does have the down side that I can't buy from itunes ( no big issue)and have lost about 10 songs that I had bought again no major concern.
I am now back up and running and can listen to itunes again.
Thank you for all your suggestions and idea's & solutions.

getting an "Ipod Service error" when you also try to open your ipod updater, try a repair install. go to your add/remove programs, select itunes, click "change/remove", select "repair"
