HANDBRAKE H.264 PROBLEM SOLVED!! DOWNLOAD HERE!!!

This is a version of Handbrake that enables the "Baseline" profile instead of the "Main" profile. That was the whole problem with the videos not being able to transfer to the iPod when using the H.264 codec. Now, I tried it & it works great!

Ok, well I tried it out and Handbrake worked for me the first tried out the new version, thanks to both Azdude and Kerry. Although, it has only worked when I ripped a movie (Super Troopers), but did not work when I tried to rip a tv show episode (Family Guy). Why would HandBrake only work some of the time?

Also, I know this isn't part of this topic, but I ripped an AVI to MP4 with Videora and it worked great.

Was Family Guy on DVD?? Handbrake rips from DVDs/Video_TS files. Not mpegs or anything like that.

I recommend Forty-TwoDVD-VXPlus if you wanna do mpeg/avi/etc. Or try PSPWare.

Hi,
this special 5G iPod build of Handbrake isn't working for me either..:-(

here's the settings I used:

Frame Rate: Same as source
Encoder: x264
Average Bit Rate(kbps): 768
File Format: MP4 File
Codecs: AVC/H.264 Video / AAC Audio
Sample Rate: 44100
Bit Rate(kbps): 128

Picture Settings:
Size: 320x240 Keep Aspect Ratio
Crop: Automatic

the file it produced works fine in iTunes, however, it will not sync to my iPod
did I set anything wrong? 😟

Nathan, thats pretty close to what I use. Only things different is for Sample Rate I use 44100 (Thats CD quality by the way) and I use an Audio Bitrate of 128 (since its AAC, thats pretty darn good). I think anymore would kinda be a waste of space, but thats just me.

Oh, and I usually do use 768 for Video Bitrate, but every once in a while you may need to lower that a little bit. The best thing to do is always test the DVD at 768 and only rip one chapter and see if that file transfers to your iPod. If it does, then just leave it at 768 and rip the whole DVD. But everything else you have looks good.

Good Luck!

Really?? That does seem kinda long, although I do think Handbrake overestimates the time allot, so I dont think it will actually take that long.

BTW, I just ripped an episode of Family Guy & it only took about 30 mins. Although, it is a cartoon so the kbps isnt as much as a real life video is.
