Bluetooth Headset mic records static sound only

This is ridiculous. If they've known about this for months, it should be fixed, period. I'm a big fan of macs, but I'm afraid this is the last straw in a long series of problems I've had just because I'm on a mac. Thanks for all the heartache, Apple.

I did the unplug trick and hold the power button for 10 seconds, rebooted and my bluetooth headset worked perfectly, 1 time, then it went straight back to the static. Hopefully there will be a patch for this soon.

Can't beleive this is not resolved yet.
I have the same issue with my brand new Mac Pro and a Jabra headset.
Headset worked fine on my old G4 450 Mhz OS 10.4.5 at home and will not work with the new Mac Pro. I called Apple tech support and tried to explain the issue and point them to read these posts.
My conclusion is that they do not really care to read this.
I was patient and was thinking to let them resolve it their way - if there is one....
I let them uninstall and reinstall my bluetooth drivers... - problem was still there. Finally they had me reinstall the whole operating system from the original disks, re-applying all upgrades and reinstalling hardware and software I use. That wasted 2 full hours of my day - and of course the problem still persists. Last resort they advised me to bring the computer to the Apple store and have them check it out. It is clear to me from all previous posts that it is not a hardware issue but maybe the phone support people are just contractors being paid by the time they spent on the phone and not by resolved incidents - not sure. They only tell you to reset the PR ram, start with extensions disabled and reinstall software but they really do not know much more.
The embarrassing thing for Apple is that I have a PC laptop in my office as well and if I use the headset there it works perfectly. What is up with Apple? Do they only want to sell I-phones in the future? C'mon Steve... put your people to work. This should be such a small issue to solve...

So right! It works on my Windows Xp (using bootcamp) through some coding procedures. But at least it works! :/

Just wanted to add my voice--discovered this problem today. At first thought it was related to SIP, and only after hours of troubleshooting discovered the bluetooth issue.

I am anxiously awaiting 10.5.7.

Still does not work with 10.5.7. My Jawbone works for the first 30 seconds of the first connection after boot then nothing at all.

I am equally excited to report that my BlueAnt Z9i is also working with my MacBook Pro since the 10.5.7 upgrade. Apple might have finally fixed this!!

Yup - my Moto H555 is working with 10.5.7! Woo-hoo!

Well I must say that my Planatronics 520 is working also. I still a little skeptical until I test it for more than two or three times. I reserve judgement until I've used it for a month or so.

10.5.7 is out, did you noticed any improvement? Is bluetooth headset working at least as good as was working on my iBook with OS X 10.4.x

I'm using 10.5.7 and so far it's working with my Planatronics 520.

I can also confirm that 10.5.7 has addressed and resolved this issue.
If you haven't already updated to 10.5.7 you should do so to fix this problem.

So far it is working for me with both a Motorola H670 and a Plantronics 320 headset.

If you have already updated to 10.5.7 and it is not working, I'd suggest downloading the Combo update instead. This tends to work more reliably sometimes than the Software update version.

While I'm glad to finally have this problem solved, it's still frustrating to have to have waited nearly 18 months for a resolution!

I can only hope that 10.6 (Snow Leopard) doesn't reintroduce these issues!
