Disable coverflow on iPod

Is there a way to disable coverflow? I just don't like the iPod changing interfaces on me when its being moved.

MacBook Pro 2.16GHz, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

But to "let the screen turn off" in the scenario you give (while running) presents a problem. Because running itself, may keep the accelerometer jiggling, thereby preventing the screen from ever turning off. So in practice, you'd have to:

1) adjust the volume
2) stop running for a minute
3) resume running

Surely you can see how nutty that is - everytime I want to adjust the volume, I have to then stop running for 60 seconds?

To Apple:

Pleaseeee!!! An option to turn off coverflow on the nano 4G!!! or to turn off the accelerometer all together. I appreciate that the screen looks pretty in those 5 seconds getting it ready for my workout or run but once I get going that stuff is just plain annoying and very frustrating! Can't skip tracks of the current playlist or go to the main menu or adjust the volume thus infuriating because I have to stop, take it off, turn it, make adjustments, and put it back on ever so gently or "hellflow" will take over my nano... Otherwise a brilliant product.

Thank you.

Ok, I know you guys despise the cover flow so i found a way to temporarily disable it. But it only works if your lying down sideways along a lounge or your bed.
The way you do it is: Go to main menu, open up settings, then turn your ipod into the position you want it, well in this case sideways, then press menu, and there you go, your Ipod is temporarily cover flow free, so you can search your songs etc while lying down along your bed without cover flow kicking in. But remember don't turn it back upright, because when you turn it back sideways it will go to cover flow again.

Hope it helps!!!

Same for me. My 1st gen nanos battery finally gave up, so I have to buy a new one. I bought it in the apple store with personalized engraving, so I can't send it back. Otherwise I would do so.

I just send feedback, hopefully they will fix this "feature" fast. Otherwise "It's not a bug, it's a feature" is not only fitting with Microsoft products.
