We have around 7 iphones in our family. I have upgraded all of them to version 2.2.1 and had not encountered any errors while such upgrade. The issue is only two of our 7 phones are having " This movie could not be Played - YouTube" problem and not all. This is strange. The same files works well on other phones and even on PCs. I tried to use RESET on iphone and tried even turning off Safari's Block Popup in settings thinking that might be the cause. But nothing worked. I request iphone support to provide solutions on this please.

Yep, I am having the same issue. As of a few days ago, I started to get an error message "This movie could not be played" on 95% of videos I had saved in my Youtube bookmarks and used to view them before with no absolutely no problem. I did a hard rebot, no change. I uninstalled the latest app I had installed, "The Weather Channel" and a few days ago, did a hard reboot, no change. I have an iPhone 3G and my neighbors have both iPhone 2G and 3Gs they don't seem to be affected and can view the videos on their iPhones with no problems. I have been running the 2.2 software since I got the phone in December, 2008.

Add me to the list of disappointed recent iPhone 3G purchasers. The device is so beautiful, will Apple and/or YouTube please take responsibility and tell users what they're supposed to do? Even if it's "Hold on, we're working on it." Leaving new users to contemplate possibly problematic Backup/Restore rituals with anecdotal reports of mixed success fixing the problem is no way to make satisfied customers! We want to know what went wrong, what we as users need to do about it (hopefully nothing!), and how to keep it from happening again.

This from a 30+ year software developer, excited about developing apps for the iPhone! Come on Apple and YouTube, you're the big boys...show us how it should be done.
