Safari or the app I get the message as per the subject. Doesn't matter which movie I try. 3G iPhone latest software.

Seems I'm getting the same problem, as is my friend. We did a little testing though and got some interesting results.

Using my iPhone (which I got a couple of weeks ago), the YouTube app seems to give the dreaded error message with most of the videos I try to play, including ones I have previously played and bookmarked.

I tried loading one of these videos using Safari through the YouTube site and the video loaded and played fine.

Using my mates iPhone (which he has had for quit a while and is jailbroken), the YouTube app behaved the same and gave the dreaded error message. However, using 'the Safari method' or one of his unofficial apps which plays YouTube videos, they both worked fine.

So it leads us both to believe that Apple have messed up somewhere and need to get their act together and either work things out with YouTube or produce a fix for their YouTube app. Either way, I think it ***** that Apple have yet to acknowledge that there is a problem.

Well, add me to the list as well, because my youtube videos won't play on my iPod touch 2G from the YouTube player. Literally two days ago they were all fine. Definitely a problem on Apple's end. I was actually quite worried that I had messed something up somehow on my touch, but coming here and seeing all of you having the same issues it's certainly not a problem on my end.

Featured videos seem to play for me, but nothing else. It's quite annoying.

Again, same issue with me (This movie could not be played) and I've never had any trouble with my iPhone. Several Twilight Zone videos that I watched the night before, I cannot watch now using the YouTube app with E, 3G or WiFi. Interestingly, I can watch those same videos if I go to youtube.com via Safari, so the problem seems to be with the app. A reset did not help.

Ad me to the list. Been having the same problem for the past day or so. Seems to only affect bookmarked/searched youtube videos. Featured, Most Popular seem to play fine. Odd to say the least. Tried resetting networks - no change. Reluctant to restore. Has to be a change with either the Youtube client SW or the service itself. Note Youtube needs to recognize the client as Iphone otherwise it will try and push a flash video file down the pipe. Suspect this has something to do with it....

Just out of curiousity, did anyone here NOT download any new Apps to their iPhone over the past few days and still have this problem? I am wondering if some of the Apps corrupted the iPhone software in some way. I have version 2.2 (5G77). I had downloaded "The Weather Channel", "Paranormal State", and an update to "Shopper" a few days ago. I deleted both "The Weather Channel", "Paranormal State" and did a system restore but the problem remains. All of my neighbors 2G and 3G iPhones work fine, but mine has the bug. I can't access videos saved to my YouTube app bookmarks, but when I got to Youtube via Safari, the videos play just fine.

Hey Guys,

Same problem....bought my 3G three weeks ago...won't play any of my bookmarked videos in youtube...I can play them if I go through Safari, but not through the App...hope someone up at Apple takes notice and gives us a solution. I don't really want to go through the reset unless I know it's going to work.

Please Help us Apple!!!!!
