Iphone Exchange Calendar Synch Issues

I have same/similar issue, IOS4, Exchange 2010, but Outlook 2007. Recurring appointments for admin that are setup by delegate and sent to others in office dont sync on iPhones. Android is OK, so I know its not permissions or communications issue per se, but the iPhones not syncing these recurring admin meetings are high profile.

Need a fix, thanks.

I had the same issue today - here's what I found. If you go to system / mail contacts and calendars and scroll down the to bottom you'll see there is a place to set a default calendar. If the default is not the exchange account not only will you not see the invitees tab when creating new meetings, but you won't sync back to exchange. I've tested this on a couple of iPhones here at work and it works.

One caveat - you may have multiple accounts listed with the same name - chances are that will be 'calendar'. The best way to find the true calendar is to book a meeting in Outlook, and see what 'calendar' it appears on. You would then set that to default.

The iPhone 4S is only good for the memory space 64GB that's the only benefit from upgrading otherwise you've wasted your upgrade if you were using a regular iPhone 4

Has the actual problem been identified for problems where recurring entries are missing from an iPhone when syncing from Exchange?

Our executives loose meeting as well, removing and re-enabling the calendar sync fixes.

How?- to go into your Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars> select your account, turn off Calendars (it will ask you to delete, press delete), then press done. Remove the calendar from the Fast App Switcher Dock, then select your account again and turn it on.

We have Exchange 2010 completely up to date with Outlook 07.

Not the preferred fix but it consistently works.

Same calendar Issues here with iOS Devices... (MEX 2010 / Outlook 2010)

Problem 1:

a lot of our top mgmt ppl are missing some meetings as well! We couldn't recognize any scheme of these meetings. Some recurrring meetings, some non repeating meetings, some updates - it's really a jigsaw puzzle. The workaround as described (turn off calendar - then turn on again) will solve the problem - at least for a while.

Problem 2:

If setting up a new exchange Account on iOS or re-enable new calendar with exchange active Sync, we get often some meeting requests which were already agreed or declined sometime/somedays ago - the users have always to confirm again the meeting which seem still to be confirmed on the iOS Device. Very strange...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the email address listed in Exchange exactly the same on the iOS Devices? They are case-sensitive and it will cause the meetings to disappear.

I have posted in forums exactly twice in the past 20 years of working in the technology industry - and I use them almost every single day. I cannot believe the OP's suggestion fixed my problem or that I didn't try it to begin with. 3 days spent working on a solution and it was that **** simple. Thank you good sir.

We are having some very similar issues. We have a person with a very active calendar and most work is done via a delegate. This user will see random meetings dissappear from their iphone 4 IOS 5. If they disable the calendar and then renable and let it sync up then the meeting shows back up. It seems that a meeting will go missing every month as there is no ryhme or reason to it. There outlook and OWA show the meetings correctly, only iphone has this odd issue. Anyone else have this issue?

Thank you for that input. We can get the phone to resync by moving the calendar and re-adding it. The big problem is we may not know the calendar is missing items until the person misses a meeting because it wasn't on the phone. Unless you rebuild the calendar every day or so I am not sure how to garuntee they won't miss a meeting. Any thoughts?

I did remove the device pairing the other day because I saw a few event ID 1008 errors in the exchange server logs. Then let it pair again and rebuild. Not sure if this is will fix it for the long haul or not.

So in this case we are in fact not alone with these calendar issues in conjunction with Exchange ActiveSync.

We have still the same problem and I agree with "awhelan" - we may not know the calendar is missing items until the person misses a meeting because it wasn't on the iPhone/iPad. Our workaround ist the same - rebuilding calendar... we tried also this:

1. delete partnership from Device to exchange (over OWA - options / all options)

2. delete Exchange Settings on Device

3. iOS Device Update to 5.1 (but most of all are already on 5.1)

4. setting up new exchange partnership on device (exchange activeSync configuration on device)

5. resynchronise again...

... but we have still calendar issues on some users which have done all these stuff.

another solution: calendar repair assistant on backend System...

I'm not sure if anyone has some solution for these annoying ***** problems on iOS Devices with Exchange ActiveSync.

We have an open Case at MS and also at Apple - still no solution... :-(

I too have a case open right now with MS. Just curious do you know if the calendar repair assistant will actually help? I have read some documentation on it and was thinking about turning it on for this user. I just wasn't sure if it will actually detect missing items on a mobile device. If it does work then at least I will have a workaround for the time being and not having worry about someone missing a meeting. Thank you for any feedback you can give.

Well - our IT Admins turned it on... but we didn't succeeded with the calendar repair assistant. We had some logs which were indicating some TimeZoneMatchCheck Errors - but on the logged user/device everything seems to be ok - all settings were correct. So until now this Calendar repair assistant tool didn't help for us - but try it anyway! maybe you will be successful!

I will most likely give it a try. What I can determine though is if this actually checks the calendar on all their devices (Outlook, Mobile Device), or if it's just a more internal check.
