Anyone else having trouble connecting to iTunes Store? For the last hour (2 pm EDT - 3 pm EDT) I've been attempting to connect to the iTunes Store and iTunes keeps telling me, "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store, Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
Obviously my network connection is okay (I posted this).
Since various people with various versions of OS 10 and Itunes are having the problem, it suggests a problem from Apple's end. They usually move fast and fix things, but lets see. Thanks to all who have posted, as this has saved me a lot of wasted time in troubleshooting my system.
I've got a feeling that this might be Steve Jobs' protest against Apple co-founder Steve Wozniack going on Dancing With The Stars and looking like a total fool....
it would be nice if apple had a status page for their online applications one could check instead of sitting around wondering or wasting time phoning their support.
I'm over in the UK. Contacted apple because my iTunes crashed when I downloaded a HD TV episode and that episode is nowhere to me seen on my mac. They said they had posted the episode to my account so I could attempt to download it again but also told me to update my iTunes - big mistake!
I can access my iTunes account and browse the store but when I check for available downloads as I was told to do all I get is '*The iTunes store is temporarily unavailable, please try again later'*. Even when I access my account page, it says I have 2 available downloads but when I click the download button, iTunes runs a process for a second or so and then nothing happens.
I can't believe Apple could mess an iTunes update up so much, especially as it prevents people from making purchases and making apple money!
Hello to all! I've been getting a "The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." message when I try to download my digital copy of the movie, "Body Of Lies", for almost a day now. ...anyone have any 411 with regard to what's happening with the iTunes Store? I started out trying my digital copy with iTunes vs. 8; I upgraded to iTunes vs. 8.1 this morning. I'm still having the same issue.
When I try to connect with the App Store, and I get a message telling me "connection could not be made to the iTunes Store, please try again". Didn't know the App Store was connected to the iTunes store (unless that has something to do with being connected to the hip bone).
HEY ALL SAME PROBLEM! My iTunes store won't open. it says "cannot connect to iTunes store the connection timed out try again later"
I've done all the stupid troubleshooting tips from turning off the firewall to downloading the newest version of iTunes and nothings worked. I can't connect to my College's WiFi unless i update my iTouch. I can't update my iTouch unless i can access the iTunes store...which isn't working! here are my diagnostics, if ANYONE finds ANYTHING helpful please write back this is driving me nuts!

Just to let you guys know - I spoke to someone at apple (uk) earlier re this iTunes problem and they said the new 8.1 update is the cause of these problems and apple are currently working on a fix.
Like lots of you I have files waiting for download but can't actually initiate the download because iTunes won't connect to my account correctly - majorly frustrating!
It's clear apple didn't see this bug coming, especially as it's preventing people from making purshases - but I'm hoping they'll be in a hurry to resolve it for that very reason!
Yes, after installing the latest version of itunes, I cannot login. My internet connection is fine but I get an error message: "WE COULD NOT COMPLETE YOUR ITUNES STORE REQUEST. THE NETWORK CONNECTION TIMED OUT. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active."
Yep, I'm having the same issue as of 9pm PDT...getting the "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store because your network connection has been reset. Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
can't help but notice that i started having this problem after downloading and installing a bunch of system updates....
