This is obviously an issue of multiple potential issues. Stay away from comments that suggest "oh that's simple, just do this" because it may or may not help you. In fact I've been at this and attempting to fix my 13019 error since 10 am Saturday morning. Tried all of the so called fixes and thankfully with the assistance of an Apple technician (although it cost me $35.00) it's a done deal. Please see below.

If the obvious steps to correct the sync problem don't work, you need to consider what you may have recently downloaded for music (regardless of source). This means that you may have a corrupt song, or a file which although Itunes might recognize and even play, might not work with your Ipod.

Long story short is my fix:

Go to a single playlist or generate a small playlist and add a half dozen songs with music you've had for awhile with no issues. In my case I then went to my device (Jims Ipod) in the Itunes program and reset my ipod settings. I then added this one and only playlist and it actually loaded onto my Ipod. This was a breakthrough since nothing would load initially. From there go to your music library and begin to group a collection of songs (blues, rock, etc) one category at a time and try to sync. Once I had 80% of my music on the Ipod I came to the Rap category. This is where the synce failed (error 13019). I removed the rap category and moved on with the next 3 and they all loaded no problem.

The totally weird part of this is that the only rap I own is Eminem (about 20 songs) which I've always had and never caused me issues. I didn't bother to try to figure out which song was corrupt I just deleted it from my library entirely.

I still don't know if my Ipod would load in the 'all music files' and I'm a little frightened to try it but the bottom line here is that there are many potential reasons for this failure, none in my opinion that should warrant absolute failure of this Apple product. But this is one remedy I'd not seen on the net yet. Good luck.

I'm having the same problem as you are. I tried just about everything listed : restore, update, resync, clearing voice notes. BTW, my ipod touch doesn't have this feature. It's a 2g. I was able to do a restore and then have it replace all the songs, but it still won't let me sync (error 13019). Would you happen to have any other suggestions? Thanks.

I figured it out. In Itunes I deselect all music and videos and re synced then selected all music and videos and synced again. It worked. It was scary to watch everything be erased, praying that almost 700 songs would resync.. and it worked..

it told me that i was not conntect to that itunes library.. don't know how that happend.. I looked and I have 3 Itunes libraries.. don't ask.. I am computer iliterate!!

hope it works for you!!

I switched to "manual sync" recently to start using borrowed audio books from the library. Anyway, the duplicates problem is what got me as well. I found a song listed on my iPod 4 times, deleted 3 of them and the error has been resolved. Disappointing that such a crippling error can occur and Apple is unable to point us to the cause of the error. I have over 4000 songs on my iPod, but fortunately the duplicate was in the "B"s so didn't have to look through all of them.

By the way, you need to find and delete the duplicate from the iPod, not your library, at least in my case that was the issue.
