iPhone 3gs 3.0.1 Apps Crash on startup

I upgraded my iPhone 3gs to the newest firmware 3.0.1 earlier this week. Everything seemed to go well until I tried to launch my USA Today app and it crashed. I tried a few more apps and they all crashed too. I figured no big deal I will just back up and restore the phone and things will be fine. I ran the restore and then I sync'd my apps back on and the problem is still the same. Native apps work fine like Safari and Stocks but all third party apps crash on start up. I poked around and everyones advice was to restore. If anyone has another suggestion short of going to the Genius Bar(can't make it there until atleast Saturday) I would appreciate it! Thanks in advance.

I fixed my iPhone by restoring from a backup that I made before installing the 3.01 update. Worked great for me and I did not lose any of my apps or settings.

A friend at work just developed this problem on his 16g iPod touch today. This is the second time it happened. The first time he fixed it by downloading a free app. That did not work for me. The new app would not run either!

It happened to me, too. Right after installing 3.01. All third party apps would crash on startup. I tried all the solutions as mentioned above. In the end I had to totally reformat, de-authorize the phone, start from scratch and install all my apps, tunes, etc. This is a ridiculously serious bug to have been around for way too long.

I think Apple engineers do not test the machine before issuing a new patch.

Baloney, but they certainly aren't going to test a firmware update with over 65,000 3rd party applications. This is up to each 3rd party app developer to ensure their app is compatible with a firmware update.

I experienced no such problem. Not sure where the problem lies but If a bug, more than likely every iPhone owner would experience the same, which is not the case.

Count me among the ranks of disheartened. I upgraded my iPhone 3GS to version 3.0.1 the day the version was released, and until today, I have not had a single problem with apps launching. Now I cannot launch a single 3rd-party app on my phone, but like everyone else it seems, I can launch iPhone stock apps. Similarly, I can play iTunes+ songs, but I cannot play songs that I have not upgraded to iTunes+, and I cannot play any TV shows I have. When trying to play un-upgraded songs, the timeline continues to track as if the song is playing, but there is no audio; the TV shows throw an error that says the video cannot be played. I tried powering off the iPhone, resetting the iPhone, resyncing the iPhone, and restoring the iPhone, all to no avail. I've tried deleting and downloading a previously-purchased app, downloading a new app directly onto the phone, downloading an app onto my computer and syncing, and updating an app, also to no avail. I've tried deauthorizing and reauthorizing my computer, and syncing the phone after that. I've even tried signing out of my account in the app store on the phone and signing back in, but that didn't help. Basically, I've tried everything I can think of, except syncing the apps one-by-one as has been suggested, and restoring as a new device. I'm somewhat disinclined to do that last one, as I have data stored in some of my apps that I really don't want to lose. I think the strangest thing about this situation for me is that I've had this version running flawlessly for more than a month, and then it suddenly hit. Any ideas?
