Canon MF4150 printing on 10.6

I installed 10.6 on my Imac this afternoon and all looked ok until I tried to print; the system did not recognize my canon mf4150 laser printer. OS X does not have a printer driver but the canon site site had a UFR II driver dated in 8-4-2009 that was good up through v10.5 (this was before v10.6 was released). I downloaded it and when I unpacked it and tried to set it up I keep getting error 9672 (looks like it was seen first in v10.3).

It seems that apple may have changed some file locations for v10.6, is it just a matter of moving some files?

I just installed v2.05 today and so far I agree with others' comments that it seems to be working. That was good timing as I have just nearly run out of toner and was seriously debating whether or not to replace the printer. Now--if only I could get an apology from Canon, or, in particular, the technical person who told me there was nothing wrong with the initial driver and that it must be a problem unique to my machine. How incredibly annoying.

I have a Canon MF4140 connected via USB. I installed the v2.05 UFR2 drivers from the Canon Australia website and install the printer by selecting the Canon MF4100 Series UFRII LT (UK) driver. When I try print to the printer with either an admin or standard user account I get an error:

Canon UFR II Printer Driver

Printer access denied. Cannot print: -5000

UPDATE:

Fixed it by repairing permissions....

Well, after seeing that v2.05 of the driver was out I took the plunge and upgraded to Snow Leopard. What a mistake. Canon may have fixed the printing via USB on the MF4150 but they killed the ability to share the printer out from the Mac. v1.80 of the driver worked fine doing this. I had all of the computers in the house connecting via Bonjour and printing just fine. They've done a crappy job on Snow Leopard drivers all around. Pitiful, really. And their only response thus far has been that they don't support printer sharing.

Unless they get this fixed--and soon--it will be the last Canon printer I ever buy. Their Mac support is pitiful.
