Mini display port to HDMI problem

I have my aluminum Macbook perfectly wired up to my 32 inch RCA HDTV. Nothing will come up on the screen, I've tried detect display, I've tried restarting the computer, unplugging and plugging back in then detect display, turned the tv of and on, but nothing is working. I am currently running Snow Leopard, but when I was on Leopard this process of attaching the TV to the computer just took about 10 minutes of doing desultory processes that I've already described. Any suggestions on how to make it work the first time?

Before 10.7.2, Mini display to HDMI works just fine. After the update, is doesnt seem to work anymore.

Totally blank on my Sony Bravia TV.

Im having same problem. Worked fine when i was in US. Now im back in UK no joy! Only differance using Amazon basic HDMI cabel. how do i know if its not that? Should i go for AVI? 😕

What BuckNation said on page 3 worked for me. I was having the same issue but once I hit command F1 it's now working.

if you have tools like gfxCardStatus installed you must enable Automatic Change for the GPU!

External Monitor does not work with the integrated intel chip.

same problem. turned out it my problem was also a bad mini display port to hdmi adapter.

strange how many of these are going "bad" all at once...

YONGO: Seems like I haven't installed this gfx-software... Do you think it might be a solution to install it just to get "control" of the nvidia card?

Tintan68: I don't know for sure but it can't hurt. The gfxsoftware is so that YOU can dictate which processor the computer is using vice an automated service.
