I'll say it makes it easier! Thanks for your response - that clears up the mystery. Now I've just got to figure out if I can give you some points for taking the time to respond.
This last one worked (with the moshi), but the sound is only through the computer.
The turn on mirroring only shows when connected, btw.
Mario has all the answers on page 34. Yay, thanks Mario!
For some reason, my TV does not appear under Audio Output nor under Audio Midi... any clue guys? It'll be really helpful.
Thanks 🙂
Only the Mid 2010 model 7,1 MacBook has audio throught the Mini DisplayPort. All other MacBooks have audio out through the headphone jack.
Is your adapter cable rated for audio as well as video?
Hm, that's what I'm not sure of.
Bought it off this local store...
Thanks Mario - that sorted my problems out. Top tip!
looking forward to a solution
i figured out how to get sound thru but video playback is a complete mystery
Didn't work for me, none of it has. This is a bug that apple needs to fix, I don't think this is hardware related.
Got the same problem as you guys, really frustrating. It was working fine for a couple of months, before it suddently stopped working. 😟
worked. thank you
Just to clarify....the adapters used to work on my TV and then stopped, they have always worked on my flatmate's and continue to work.
SOLVED
1) buy a new hdmi-mini display adaptator
2) use it without issue
3) trow away the other one which does not work anymore (electronic component)
