Magic Mouse swipe stopped working

Hi guys,

It has to do with the new Magic Mouse drivers. I had not had this problem before applying the update. Now the 3/4 finger swipe on my MacBook Pro '09 and the 2 finger swipe on a Magic Mouse have stopped working.

I hadn't noticed that my trackpad swipe (3 finger gesture) had also stopped working.

Using the mouse on a late-2008 unibody MacBook by the way.

Well same problem here, except deleting the pref file doesn't fix it.

Has anyone discovered where to report this to apple? I couldn't find the product listed on their feedback page.

There isn't even a magic mouse forum! (only found this topic in the iMac forum by chance, but I'm using a MacBook...)

Thw swipe functionality stopped working on both the muse and the track pad of my MacBook Pro moments after installing the Magic Mouse software.

Deleting the com.apple.systempreferences file didn't help at all.

The SMC reset mentioned in my earlier post had worked only once for me. The problem returned the following day and applying the SMC reset again did not fix it 😟

The temporary solution on MacBooks Pro with dual GPUs is to swith between them when the finger swiping on both the touchpad and the Magic Mouse stops working.

Anyone out there experiencing the same behaviour on iMacs or is it limited to just MacBooks Pro?

Update permissions, repair disk, delete plist restart and a few other attempts made no difference. the two finger swipe works for Safari to go forward and backward through a series of web sites. But the place I want to use it and it does not appear to work is iPhoto. I have iPhoto 6. Does the swipe feature only work with newer versions of iPhoto?

It would indicate that the iPhoto 6 is not supported with a 2 finger swipe since it has been working for you in Safari. In my case 2 finger swiping on a Magic Mouse and 3/4 finger swiping on a trackpad stop working entirely.

Same problem here, but doesn't seem to work by restarting the computer or removing the battery off of the mouse. Scrolling works just fine, but 2 finger swipe doesn't and the settings are turned on.

Today I receive the Magic Mouse from delivery, and then pair it to my MB and also install the latest Wireless Mouse update. Then I find the two finger swipe function not work in iPhoto, Preview. I had phoned Apple support for help, they seems no idea why this happen too. Finally the most Magic thing happen that it work again after I reboot the Mac for the 3rd time (1st time auto-reboot after install the update, 2nd time I reboot myself before phone the support, 3rd time reboot after the supporting person ask me to do so). It's really Magic!!!!! ****!!!

The question is not answered really... I haven't tried deleting the plist file because I don't think I should have to reconfigure all my keyboard settings because of Apple's fault.

This is annoying.

What's more annoying is there's no feedback link for this product, so I can't tell Apple about the problem.

Or do we all need to pick up the telephone to let them know?

Anybody having problems with Two-finger swipe not working? Go into your bluetooth, top right hand corner of the screen and remove all other mouse which are listed apart from your magic mouse. This should fix the problem.
