Bluetooth Mouse - Suggestions?

I'm looking for a multi-button BT mouse that will work perfectly with my PowerBook. My top candidate is Macally's BTmouseJR for price and how Macally has given me reliable good products in the past. Any suggestions or support for my decision?

Alexander,

At first is seems too small to be comfortable, but after 30 minutes or so you notice that your hand is very comfortable, in fact I have trouble going back to the large mouse. It has a 800dpi track so it's very precise. The only con when I use it on my Kensington wrist/mouse pad (that has a very black and some what fuzzy soft surface) diagonal movement will sometime be a little jerky, but on any other surface, even my jeans when I am sitting at the local coffee shop it is dead on.

HI, "Kiyomi" is Japanese, and I was told it meant something like "Wise soul looking over the world." Look for my name when I become a famous artist! 😉

I couldn't find any reviews on that mouse, either, so I resorted to this arena. So far it seems to have all the features I need. I just hope it doesn't feel like the round hocky puck mice that came with the G3 desktops! Those bugged!

Hey guys,

Yep it can be used while you are charging. The lag time is generally less then 2 seconds, mostly about a second.
You can get is for about $45 shipped here is the pricegrabber link

The instructions that come with it are terrible, but it seems to work in all conditions. The OS X control panel for BT does not show if it is charged or not(that may be an Apple BT only function) If the red light come on solid on the back of the mouse, it means that it needs charging. When you charge it the light will flash green. No way to tell when it is fully charged, but a couple of hours of charging seems to last for about 8-16 hours of use, depending on how much you use it.

Let me know after you get it, I would also like to know what you think as well.

Hi Josh,

Thanks for all your info about the Iogear mouse. Charging over a USB cable is a real winner - no extra batteries or recharger to lug around! Could you let me know if the scroll wheel rolls with a clicky-motion or smoothly? I do kind of prefer the tactile feedback of clicks when rolling a scroll wheel, but have noticed that a number of new Bluetooth mice are going with smooth scrolling.

Another happy BT500 user. I just got it this past week and have been using it solid for the week. Since it has an on/off switch, standby mode and takes AAA batteries, it seems a viable competitor to the others with rechargable batteries. I bet I'll spend less time swapping out my (standard) batteries than you guys will charging your's. 😉

Lag-time and smoothness are excellent, and within my standards for being a graphic designer (my mouse is my pen, so I demand a high-level of performance in this area).

Highly recommended. (Even over MacMice's Mouse BT, which I've also owned.)
