@iBiM, I had tried this over the weekend, without success, but as it worked for you I tried again tonight. For about 2 hours it seemed to cure the problem, but I regret it has just started again.

I really think this is an iTunes server side issue and I am still awaiting the Apple support email response on this. I will post if they flag something that has not already been mentioned.

I agree it is not solved.

Same problem here, only I'm still using 9.1.1, and the errors are inconsistent. The initial error (upon going to iTunes store the first time after I launch app) is usually resolved by pulling up a web page in my browser (I usually just go to apple's website). But when I try and click on Movies, I get the error. so I type movies into the search box, and that brings back results... I try and click on Movies in the left sidebar.. that produces the error.

Just relaunched the app, and now it works fine. The fact remains: it's inconsistent, and... since nothing's changing on this end.. it must be with the server.

My guess is that with the new version, they changed structural things, but didn't change everything they needed to change, and so there are compatibility issues with all versions of the client.

Quite frustrating. What ever happened to "It just works." ???

I email apple about this problem Here is a portion of their reply

"Error 3259 is a network timeout error. Sometimes this error can be caused by software on your computer that slows down the network connection. This error can also appear if you are downloading multiple items. I'd like to provide some steps that should help you successfully download your purchases.

It often helps to pause the download and then download items one at a time. These steps will walk you through doing this:

1) Open iTunes.

2) From the Store menu at the top, choose Check for Available Downloads. If you're unable to upgrade and are using iTunes 7, the option will say Check for Purchases.

3) Enter your account name and password, then click Check. Your purchases should begin downloading.

4) Under the STORE section on the left, click Downloads.

5) Click the Pause All button in the lower-right corner. This will temporarily pause all of your downloads.

6) To resume only one of the downloads, click the refresh button that appears to the right of one of the paused downloads.

Certain types of software can affect the way a computer sends and receives information from the Internet. Here are a few examples of these types of software:

- Firewalls
- Web accelerators
- Ad filters
- Virus protection software"

Of course this didn't solve my problem, so the tech guy wants me to call apple and talk to a Tech.

Since this thread is listed a solved, I started a new thread to try and keep it open. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2502911&tstart=50

This is not the solution for me, can't speak for other folks. Downloaded 3 songs yesterday & only one of them is giving me trouble. Today when I try to finish downloading that song it still won't download but I downloaded 5 app updates. Now trying to download it on it's own still gives me the error.

I've rebooted. Rebooted my wireless router. Deleted the com.apple.iTunes.plist that someone else tried. Deleted the downloads folder. Logged out. Logged back on. Nothing's working.

I had a similar problem with trying to download a song to my iPhone and then suddenly it just started working. I'm hoping the same will happen with this song.

same problem here...No changes to my setup, however I have been experiencing this since upgrading to 9.2

I have had an intermittent problem with downloads and navigating the itunes store where I receive a Network Connection Reset notification. As well, I receive a 3253 error when downloading music intermittently.

Need a fix apple...how about releasing an update? This coupled with my iPhone4 issues are driving me nuts!

This solution worked for me, Simply sign out and then sign back in.

However, before I tried this, I called Apple Support. After spending a half hour with me -- exhausting every possibility -- the Tech's suggestion was to perform a clean install (of Snow Leopard).

Really. Erase my hard drive? *NOT the solution.*

Luckily, the "sign out/sign in" thing eliminated the problem. Try it.

network connection was reset
