network connection was reset

whenever i now try to purchase music, keep getting the message: Network connection was reset.
and nothing downloads.

have not changed anything; have not reset anything.

what has happened, what can be done.

What worked for me was to logout of my itunes account and then log back in. Go into itunes, click on your account, logout, then log in with your password. Everything reconnects, downloads and completes. It worked great!

I have been having the same error message for two weeks. I realized that my credit card had expired and I had not updated it on itunes. As soon as I updated it with a current card, the error message no longer appeared and all my waiting downloads downloaded.

I found a similar solution in another thread, and this worked for me:

Under the Store menu, select Turn Off Genius. A window will pop up telling you that your genius results are being deleted.

Try downloading again. It should connect now with no issues.

Go back to Store menu and select Turn On Genius.

no neither work here. basically the store is down currently… i tested with multiple ISP … always the same error. 😟

i have tried a couple of the suggestions listed here:
- "Genius" in the "Store" menu is and has been turned off
- credit card information is and has been completely up to date.

i don't see how this is a "problem solved".

it happens often but not always for me. if i am persistent, i can get my app downloads and my music downloads. sometimes i have to hit the "resume/restart" in the downloads. but once the dialog starts popping up, i have to click it away 2-5 times for every successful app update download, etc.

I have been having the same problem. I was able to correct it by going to SYSTEM PREF>NETWORK>AIRPORT>ADVANCED>PROXIES and delete everything in the Bypass Proxie Settings for these hosts and domains.

Now everything seems to be fine, Its weird

I don't know how many of you may be Time-Warner Roadrunner customers, or whether that's the only ISP affected by this issue, but I was able to completely eliminate this problem by changing my DNS servers from theirs to Google's free ones. As soon as I did that, the problem COMPLETELY disappeared. I can't say why, it just did.

Well, I tried all of the suggested solutions to no avail. Apple support was useless. I got the impression that it was a completely automated service as I kept getting the same replies over and over again!

However, when I installed a new modem/router all my download problems disappeared - and my ping and download speeds have significantly increased.

Borrow a modem/router from a mate and see if it works for you.....

Changing my DNS settings on my Airport Extreme to use Google DNS resolved the issue for me. Before that I couldn't go 2 minutes without the connection being rest.
