iTunes Error 42408 After 9.03 Upgrade

I am receiving the error 42408 after upgrading to 9.03. Google did not yield any results. The error appears attempting to authorize my Powerbook.

PowerBook G4, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

I wanted to share that I have 7 iPods and all of them have had to require a reauthorization since Mid-Feb 2010. Apply must have done something structurally with the old ".Mac" accounts that required this.

That said, I have reset factory settings on a couple of them and re-sync'ed. This seems to work for each individual iPod. But, it is time consuming and for my larger HD iPods I wanted a different approach. I used both and found that I had to use the second option, remove the SC File and this seems to have resolved the issue. It seems like I had to reauthorize using the new ".me" and my other associated email address and all is now great.

Thanks for the information - don't know that I could have figured it out without much more time.

This is getting really weird. I've tried every trick out there and it only temporarily spares me the "unknown error".

-I deleted the SC files (turns out I had three downloads in line)
Worked for two days.

-Deauthorized my computer and authorized it again.
Worked for a couple of days.

-Change Itunes icons to make sure I'm using the right one.
Did not imporove situation.

-Changed my user account settings
That worked for a coupl of hours.

I can play all the mucis that I have bought, but not the movies, tv shows and I can't buy anything else. I'm pretty upset that I'm locked out of using things I paid for.

Oh yes, my Itouch likes to say that I need to format it each time I plug it in.

I am not having any luck with these options.

I am running Windows 7 - ITUNES 9.0.3
Everytime I connect my IPOD I have to do a restore now. Just last Sunday - there were no problems. All week I can't purchase anything and get error 42408 just like anyone else here.

I did the SC folder thing. I tried reauthorizing my computer and get same error. I am so ready to scream.

How do you roll back to previous version? I do not have the previous version copied to my hard drive to try and reinstall it.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey Apple, get off your a** and fix this problem. You've been aware of it for months. Every time I stop in the Apple Store to get a status on the patch, they tell me it will be out in a couple days. This has been going on for 3 weeks. You're all over raising song prices, but you don't seem to be responsive to your customers' problems. You're acting more like MS every day. I will not spend one more dime on an Apple product until this is resolved, and I encourage all others to do the same. Maybe that wil motivate you.

I had this problem a month ago and it was fixed after de-authorizing and reauthorizing my computer. This time when I e-mailed support they de-authorized it on the back end and when I go to re-authorize it I get a different error, now I will have to back up my entire library and re-install iTunes. We'll see if it works...I only wish that I could install an older version of iTunes, as Apples engineers plainly can't get a handle on this bug in this one.
