iTunes Error 42408 After 9.03 Upgrade

I am receiving the error 42408 after upgrading to 9.03. Google did not yield any results. The error appears attempting to authorize my Powerbook.

PowerBook G4, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

After connecting my iPod classic to my MacBook last night, I got a message that said I must restore my iPod to the factory settings. I got the 42408 error right after the restore and I tried both of your steps to get rid of it, but no such luck. I even tried to deauthorize my account only to try and authorize it right after, but it wouldn't even let me do that.
I have a few hundreds of dollars of music on my computer from the past four years, so I can't listen to a lot of my favorite songs... I'm thinking about calling Apple for help sometime within the next few days.

Here's one to add to your confusion. My MacBook has iTunes 9.0.3 and syncs with my iPod, my iPhone, runs movies, etc. without ever asking for either authorization or telling me the machine is not authorizes. A new iMac that came on Friday does so without issue as well. CLEARLY, this is a conflict of software articles, not solely an iTunes issue. Software conflicts are likely the answer.
