iTunes Error 42408 After 9.03 Upgrade

Tried all the listed fixes to no avail. Does anyone with Apple support know when this issue is going to get addressed?

Replacing the itunes icon in the dock remedied my problem so I didn't have to perform any of the suggestions. Hope this helps! - Christine

Making a new dock icon worked for me, I can download from the iTunes store and play all the songs I've downloaded again. I can also sync all of my iPods without the error message.

After doing everything under the sun, here is what has worked for me.

I take the iPod out of it's dock when the computer starts up or restarts. Once booted with my iPhone attached, there is no error when iTunes starts up. I then stick the iPod back into it's docking device on my desk that is wired to my computer, iTunes continues to stay open, but I don't get the error. I can sink the iPod, and the iPhone, without the error message that my computer is not authorized.

I am attempting to restore and reinstall music on the iPod in question, and if it works, I will post it here if the problem returns or if the above workaround is still necessary.

Restored iPod did the trick. Restored in 9.0.3, put the music back on from iTunes with 9.0.3 installed, and (knock on wood), the error messages and requests to re-authorize have stopped.

I got this annoying issue as well and apple should fix it. . It is strange because not all the solutions here doesn't seem to work for everyone. Its only a temporary fix. This error does comes back. Might as well downgrade to an older version of iTunes.

I've tried the fixes suggested here and still no success. Will try downgrading. This is awful - hundreds of dollars of music I can no longer play. Apple please fix!

Downgrading to 9.02 seems to have fixed my problems. APPLE FIX THIS!

Removing icon from dock worked for me as well. Started iTunes from app folder.

Did exactly as you said and now I am able to play the 136 purchases that were not available.I was also not able to even purchase new downloads.
Hopefully iTunes will have a permanent fix.

Spoke too soon doing the same error code all over again.
I have sent in a request to iTunes lets see what they come up with.
This is something you normally go through when run Windows-yes I also have to other computers running on Windows XP and Windows 7 but the best so far is Mac OS.

Does anyone know where we can download iTunes 9.0.2?
