iPad clock

Ive noticed that the clock never keeps good time. If I wake it it will be a few minutes behind from my iPhone. I have never seen it slower then 6 min. Has anyone else seen this issue?

I too am having this issue. It seems inconsistent though. Sometimes it'll seem to be keeping the correct time for a while (after having been asleep) but it'll then go out of sync within an hour or so. Anyone have any idea whether or not this is hardware issue? Hoping I don't have to return my iPad, which is working really well otherwise...

Fir those of you with your clock gaining or losing a little time per day, you can try the Emerald Observatory app. It's only 99 cents, and gets time from an NTP server.

I have noticed my iPad gains about 10 seconds per day. This is pretty poor compared to a $5 digital watch. IMHO this is poor quality control! Apple needs to add periodic NTP synch to their OS. I'll bet that the 3G ipads font have this problem and get their time from the cell phone network.

Never had a problem until today. This morning, noticed the clock showed 9:30PM, which is about the time that I pressed sleep/wake last night.

So I reset the clock, checked my email and put it to sleep again. A couple of hours later, I unlocked, and it read 8:15 AM -- about the time I had last put it to sleep.

It has been a very long time since I powered down and restarted the iPad. I think I'll do that now.

I bought an iPad about a week and half ago it went back yesterday because of the video freeze issue and now the replacement I drove an hour to the Apple store to get has the clock issue. It was off about 3 hours earlier today so i set it manually. Later I noticed it was off about 15 minutes so I set it again and now it's off 45 minutes. I noticed now if I reboot it will come back up with the right time. I may be at the end of my rope with this thing. I have never been so frustrated with an Apple product and I own 3 Macs, 3 iPhones, 3 different iPods, wireless keyboard, wireless mighty mouse, magic mouse, an Airport Extreme and an Airport Express.

FWIW, I noted the same problem. It began several days after I bought the iPad but after a couple of days the clock corrected and the time has been perfect since.

I have a 3G and just noticed the time was slow by 40 minutes. Rebooting didn't fix it (I was on WiFi at the time). I hooked up the USB cable to my mini. The second I fired up iTunes (the iPad showed 'syncing message' for a second or so), the clock was set to the correct time...even before the iPad appeared on the left panel. I set the clock to a wrong time and tried this a few times with the same result.
