iPAd 3G Reserved at Retail Store-Delivery Time

Reserved at 4 apple stores, and happened to walk into best buy and they had 3G models in! Cancelled my reservations at Apple Store and bought one at Best Buy.

I reserved a 16G iPad at the Birmingham AL store on May 6th and am still waiting! At this rate there could be an Android or webOS pad on the market before I get my iPad.

If I get another email from Apple I'll let you know. I just got one yesterday and I assume will be receiving another one eventually.

It is interesting to say that although they did ask for my ID, they have not checked whether or not I really have received an email confirming the reservation. That makes me wonder about the possibility of people who have not reserved iPad just walk in the store an purchase one.

Just out of curiosity I checked the local Best Buys this afternoon and found the one near by had the iPad I wanted in stock. Great, I called to check, yep we have it. Drove over only to be told that “we sold out early this morning.” To say I was mad would be an understatement. I asked the manager and he said he would address the issue - I doubt it! When I got back to work I checked again and sure enough Best Buys web page still listed the iPad in stock. Memo to self – Never trust the Best Buy web page and NEVER trust a Best Buys employee.

Reserved a 16GB 3G at the Century City store in Los Angeles on 05/10/10. Nothing yet. Plus I want to use the $100 rebate I got from the first generation iPhone which I haven't used it. They better accept it! Didn't see an expiration date on it.

so here's a new wrinkle...i just called the apple store and they tell me i am 125th on the wait list! so i called my student store (i work for a university) and they have 6 of them available right now! but then i wouldn't be able to use my $100 rebate there. oh what to do, what to do???

Who did you talk to at the apple store to find out what your place in line was?

nobody in particular...just whoever answered the phone was able to look it up by my e-mail address.

You must be lucky. I just called my local apple store and they could not or would not tell me how far down the list I am. They can tell you how many people are on hold infront of you, but not how many people are on the reserve list ahead of you 😟

This lack of information sure takes the fun out of getting one of these. To put salt in the wound, Apple sent 3 emails to my house yesterday suggesting I give iPads as graduation gifts. Maybe they are talking about a gift for a 2011 graduate.

I was lied to! I checked at TWO Apple Stores in my area (Orlando FL) wanting to get on a reserve list for a 3G iPad and was told that there was no reserve list at either store! Either I took my chances that there'd be some left on April 30 or order online.

Fortunately there were some left when I got to the store at Mall of Millenia; only had to wait in line for about ten minutes and scored a 32GB 3G. But I'm still feeling a little anger, reading all these posts about people who got on a reserve list.

BTW; I didn't misspell "Millennia" in the name of the mall; the people who named the mall misspelled it.

I actually was able to pick one up at a local Best Buy.. I appreciate the offer though. I've heard there's a 24 hour time window to pick up a reservation, so I'm not sure it would have worked out with me this weekend, anyway.
