Security code is invalid. iTunes for iTouch.

Had the same issue and as had been mentioned before, my checking accout balance was less than what I owed Apple. Whoops.

I was finally able to renter my card after waiting a few weeks.

For anyone having this issue, there are specific instructions much earlier in this thread that I won't bother to try to remember or re-write now, but they did solve my problem. I think it had to do with going to my actual .Mac or .Me account and entering, at first, no card, saving, then entering the proper card and saving again, but it was months ago and the details are fuzzy.

Too bad Apple hasn't taken global action to deal with this, but it's probably best that we each deal with our account info personally.

Bottom line is: Once done according to Apple's Customer Service directions, it resolved the issue.

Somewhere in the vicinity of August 8 or 9, 2011, there was a solution for this posted. I did an abbeviated version, and someone after me did a more complete set of directions. It has to do with deleting, then re entering your CC info. But don't rely on my memory now, 4 months later. Go back to August and search this thread and another thread that was titled "Itunes Store - Help"

Or use email or chat support to Apple. The fix did come from there.

Use a paypal account.

I have had the same issue for days now, and this worked for me today:

I removed my appleID from my phone.

Shut off my phone.

Disabled express checkout/one click purchasing on a pc.

Signed in on the phone.

It asked for my security coder and accepted it.

Let me know if it works for you too.

I love how this thread goes on for a year and a half and the bug still has not been fixed! Same issue here. Do something about it Apple if you want me to keep this new ipad and buy any apps!

I suggest you sell it and move along.

I have had this problem for months. I have only found this thread but have literally just found a quick fix.

My problem was that when I put a gift card on to buy things (Its the only way I do it) It would tell me my Security code was wrong, once I clicked 'Buy'. I kept trying, but it would always say it was wrong.

I then cancelled all that I was doing, went to Home, and then went to account settings. I changed my Security code through that area, and also re-writing all my bank details in. It takes a few seconds, but it then goes through.

Don't do it through the purchase part, but through your actual settings. It should then work. This worked for me after months of waiting for it to work!

It may not work for all of you, but it's worked for me! A bit late, but incase anyone still needs it 🙂
