Security code is invalid. iTunes for iTouch.

Due to an issue with my computer, I am forced to buy my songs from my iPod Touch. But when I try to purchase new songs, I get a message saying I need to enter my billing info and it takes me to a screen that says I need to insert my security code, and when I do, it says the number I put in is invalid.

For anyone having this issue, there are specific instructions much earlier in this thread that I won't bother to try to remember or re-write now, but they did solve my problem. I think it had to do with going to my actual .Mac or .Me account and entering, at first, no card, saving, then entering the proper card and saving again, but it was months ago and the details are fuzzy.


Too bad Apple hasn't taken global action to deal with this, but it's probably best that we each deal with our account info personally.


Bottom line is: Once done according to Apple's Customer Service directions, it resolved the issue.

IM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM IT WONT LET ME UPDATE ANY OF MY APPS OR DOWNLOAD ANY EITHER AND IT TELLS ME THERES A PROBLEM WITH MY BILLING INFO IT SAYS MY SECURITY CODE IS INVALID SO I KEEP TYPING IT IN AND IT SAYS ITS INCORRECT ITS THE SAME CARD THAT IVE HAD FOREVER THIS JUST STARTED A FEW DAYS AGO SO I TRYED CALLING APPLE TODAY AND THEY SAID I HAVE TO CONTACT ITUNES WHICH THEY SEND YOU A LINK TO LEAVE THEM A MESSAGE!!

Somewhere in the vicinity of August 8 or 9, 2011, there was a solution for this posted. I did an abbeviated version, and someone after me did a more complete set of directions. It has to do with deleting, then re entering your CC info. But don't rely on my memory now, 4 months later. Go back to August and search this thread and another thread that was titled "Itunes Store - Help"


Or use email or chat support to Apple. The fix did come from there.

I have had this problem for months. I have only found this thread but have literally just found a quick fix.

My problem was that when I put a gift card on to buy things (Its the only way I do it) It would tell me my Security code was wrong, once I clicked 'Buy'. I kept trying, but it would always say it was wrong.

I then cancelled all that I was doing, went to Home, and then went to account settings. I changed my Security code through that area, and also re-writing all my bank details in. It takes a few seconds, but it then goes through.

Don't do it through the purchase part, but through your actual settings. It should then work. This worked for me after months of waiting for it to work!


It may not work for all of you, but it's worked for me! A bit late, but incase anyone still needs it 🙂
