UK Pre-order - "Shipped By" or "Delivered By"??

So, I pre-ordered my iPad, an O2 micro-sim and a case at 12.22am on the 10th May.

I notice my order status says "Estimated shipping by May 28th", so I phoned Apple to enquire as to whether I could expect delivery on the 28th.

The rep told me that some orders show "estimated delivery by May 28th" and some show "estimated shipping by May 28th"

Now, if it means they're not going to ship my iPad before the 28th..then I'm not too pleased!!

So the question is...does anyone in the UK's order status say "delivered by May 28th"??

my order shipped via ups still does not track on the ups website with either the tracking number of the one starting 1zw7v17

incidentally i ordered the ipad,case,dock,sim and i have 3 different tracking numbers, one for ipad, one for case and one for dock&sim does this mean it is being shipped as 3 seperate parcels. that would seem a bit silly

Has anyone managed to get tracking info from UPS for their order?
If so, when did you order and what else besides the iPad was in the order, if anything?
Still waiting for tracking info on mine. Getting slightly paranoid that the case and micro sim have delayed it but i did get an email saying it had shipped on the 22nd. But Apple doesn't show any tracking info or estimated arrival date.

I ordered mine as soon as pre-orders started and it was shipped on the 22nd. UPS still isn't recognising my tracking number. Will try again tomorrow.

Finally Apple have taken out my money for the iPad and accessories from my credit card account.

The tracking information for the iPad & Case is UPS,
and for the accessories TNT, ipad dock connector to VGA adapter, iPad Keyboard dock, iPad 10W USB power adapter.
Both UPS and TNT tracking information on US and UK sites show no information.
All items shipped on 22nd May and delivery on or before 28th May 2010.

As of yesterday, the tracking links have now greyed out. So I expect and update of this a little later.

No change in TNT status for my iPad shipping from Shenzhen. Still 'in transit' from Hong Kong for the last 24 hours, and 'Pick Up Date' listed as the 24th.

Huh? What does 'Pick Up Date' actually mean then?

Same here. It's possible the orders have moved from HK but the tracking hasn't been updated. I will check again later today.

Is anybody else's Delivery Reference Number different on the email you received to the one given on Apples ordering status page? i have two differing TNT ref numbers, should i worry?

There's a delivery reference number, and a different consignment number.

Got my invoice email today; dunno if that marks any milestone...

Same here. The tracking number on the Apple ordering status page is different and when used on the TNT shows the order delivered in Athens, Greece on the 16th of April. I hope Apple update the tracking number soon with the correct one. The one I received in the email 2 days ago is still not working.

I too am a little nervous, although mine does say 'shipped' on the 22nd May with TNT UK. I just cant track anything, tried all the reference numbers in the shipped email, and the different one they give you on the Apple US site. Still nothing. Whatnumber are you guys using to check the status? Can anyone check the TNT orders!? Just says not found 😟

Why is everyone freaking out??? Don't bother looking for tracking at least until tomorrow - even then the iPad will arrive on your doorstep on the 28th as stated - take it easy! :))

Just spoken to a very nice gentleman on the phone at Apple.
Apparently all the orders that got emailed this weekend saying they had shipped were pre-scans due to the sheer volume of orders being mailed out.
Once they actually get picked up by UPS or TNT then we will have valid tracking info, and he also thinks it's possible we'll get another email sent out once that happens.
I'd imagine this will be later today or early tomorrow, given that he said it is still on track to be delivered to me on friday 🙂

So just to confuse matters further

I got my Shipping email on the 23rd and UPS tracking info later that day.

The Apple status states "Shipped on 23rd May", but the "Delivered By:" is blank.

Tracking the package on the UPS site just shows "Billing Information Received"

I spoke to UPS who have stated they do not yet have the item, but that they will be picking it up from Leicester!!!

I spoke to Apple who have assured me that I will get my iPad on the 28th!!

As far as I know, billing information basically means that UPS have been told by Apple to pick up the parcel to then deliver.
I think the guy I spoke to earlier was right, they've just been preparing loads of pallets of the things to save time to make sure they all ship ok and get delivered on friday. Have faith that they will get here on the 28th 🙂

iPad on order since 10 May but status still states to be shipped by 28 May .... however, received email overnight saying that iPads are to be on sale in UK stores as from 9 am Friday 28 May - what to do? Cancel order and go and buy the iPad on Friday? Or continue to hope that Apple will "deliver" (literally!!)? It can't be right that I can walk in to an Apple store and get it before something pre-ordered over 2 weeks previously is even shipped. Or can it?
