UK Pre-order - "Shipped By" or "Delivered By"??

So, I pre-ordered my iPad, an O2 micro-sim and a case at 12.22am on the 10th May.

I notice my order status says "Estimated shipping by May 28th", so I phoned Apple to enquire as to whether I could expect delivery on the 28th.

The rep told me that some orders show "estimated delivery by May 28th" and some show "estimated shipping by May 28th"

Now, if it means they're not going to ship my iPad before the 28th..then I'm not too pleased!!

So the question is...does anyone in the UK's order status say "delivered by May 28th"??

point taken mate. But now when you see that Pc World and Currys are going to be selling them on the 28th it makes me think do i cancel my order with apple and just try my luck outside the shops on friday morning.

As they are pre-orders they don't take the money until it has been shipped. I ordered mine on the 10th and the money got taken on the 23rd.
As for the shops, if your order is shipping june then its always worth a try. But theres even more of a chance you won't be able to get one. At the moment you have one reserved with your online order and it will get to you by the date stated in your email receipt.

Just had a quick phone call to Apple. They assured me that the orders were going through as fast as possible but at this point they have also opened up for Saturday deliveries to peoples home addresses which they don't normally do. This is because of the volume of orderes the couriers are having to fulfill.

My UPS tracking number is also now working (the one which starts 1ZW) but currently states that the information has been recieved from the shipper.

I'm still hoping for a Friday delivery!

Oh boo. I followed the instructions in this thread and mine was delivered on the 12th March 2010 to Thessaloniki. Now a bit panicky that I have a dud reference number. Whoever has my ipad in Thessaloniki - give it back!

I hope I still get mine on Friday as I've got it being sent to work and I'm not there on Saturday!

My UPS UK order tracker is also active. Multiple (3) packages, 1 iPad 64Wi-Fi, 2 Dock/Camera Connector, 3 Case.

assuming its in the UK, i cant see friday being a problem however it is a little late in the day to be certain to be delivered on friday. but id say definitely by Saturday.

of course all i have is billing info received which means they havn't even picked it up yet! Panic!

i totally want one by friday, fingers and toes crossed!

Well, mine was shipped on Monday but there's still no details on the TNT sites. I've just spoken to TNT and they have 13,000 iPads arriving but can't check individual cases as the consignment numbers are for old Greek deliveries. I'm frustrated because there's no evidence that it has left China especially given my credit card is still not showing any monies taken 😟

I wouldn't trust the UPS site to tell you exactly where the items are. Their tracking system isn't live for starters. If Apple do not ship to the home by 28th May, there are going to be many, quite right criticisms of them for failing to deliver on their promised date twice. I would expect some compensatory effort on Apple's behalf.

That isn't going to happen, so I do think they'll arrive on time.

My order shipped on the 24th but there is no Estimated Delivery date at present.

My credit card has not been debited.

However, I just called Apple and they told me that my order will definitely be delivered on the day of release, Friday 28th between 9am - 6.30pm.

Panic over.

Yes, I've just rung Apple too. They're very nice people to deal with 🙂. They know that UPS and TNT are having issues with the tracking numbers , as they are reused, but reckon by Thursday we should get proper tracking. I too was still assured I'll get it on Friday 28.

I'm assuming your service is with TNT? There seems to be quite a few people with this. TNT seem to be re-using old tracking numbers and just haven't updated them for the iPad deliveries yet.

ok thankyou, that was actually my dad's ipad's tracking info, when I search for my iPad mine doesn't show up 😟
Dad's iPad is 32gb 3g, and mine is 32gb wifi. Both ordered at same time and said shipped on the staurday just gone 22nd/23rd. Lets just hope they are here by Friday otherwise wouldn't of been worth waking up early on the 10th when we ordered!

Well I ordered mine on the 10th at about 11am, got the email on saturday evening saying that it had been shipped. UPS only got billing information this morning, so it's taking a while for them to get through the system 🙂
I called Apple and the guy said they were pre-scanning the crates of iPad's to get a head start on it.
If your order confirmation email said shipped/delivered by May 28th, then its a good bet it'll get to you on friday 🙂
