UK Pre-order - "Shipped By" or "Delivered By"??

So, I pre-ordered my iPad, an O2 micro-sim and a case at 12.22am on the 10th May.

I notice my order status says "Estimated shipping by May 28th", so I phoned Apple to enquire as to whether I could expect delivery on the 28th.

The rep told me that some orders show "estimated delivery by May 28th" and some show "estimated shipping by May 28th"

Now, if it means they're not going to ship my iPad before the 28th..then I'm not too pleased!!

So the question is...does anyone in the UK's order status say "delivered by May 28th"??

Mine has shipped via UPS(UK) but it appears the tracking part of the apple site is down at the moment.

If you try to track it on the UPS site, it says the package number can't be found as well.

You might want to try the US site for UPS. Mine is being shipped by TNT but I can only track it on TNT's US site and not their UK one.

Makes no difference both the UK and USA sites say:

"UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Please verify your information and try again later."

All I get at the UK Apple Store at the moment is :-

"An Internal Server Error Has Occurred."

"subject to change"

Could mean earlier as well as later.
I think they are just covering themselves for delays (like the ash cloud!)

I only have friday and then im off to spain! I have no neighbours to take a delivery if its late! I heard that apple fined delivery services in the states for delivering early so im not holding my breath.

Apple did not want them delivered early in the US as the product was not officially released at all until then. As the iPad has actually been on sale for quite a while already I see no point in Apple deliberately delaying deliveries internationally. What would be the point?

I ordered mine late 21st May, it said 'Ships By June 7th' Now it has changes to 'Ships June'. I have no idea what is going on now...

Just a thought, but my 64GB 3G/case/dock/O2 SIM order is not yet listed as shipping.

Now while the iPad/dock might ship direct from China, it seems unlikely to me that an O2 SIM will ship from there.

I therefore wonder if those orders with SIMs have actually shipped, but as a batch from China to Apple in order to repackage with SIMs before a later UK dispatch.
