Wi-Fi Connected, but no internet access
Saw a few like issues posted here, but indicated fixes did not work, i.e., reboot router and iPad.
Thanks

I FOUND A SOLUTION!
Okay so just to describe my issue which was the same as what JF87 described; it was connected to the wifi and yet on safari to load facebook.com for example it would say it's not connected to the internet
BUT the really strange thing was that it would load google.com and apple.com but most other sites not. and the app store didn't work either. So clearly it was connected to the internet but there was something software related messing it up?
THEN it dawned upon me that my date&time settings were set to manual and the date was set for 3 years ago (from when I was trying to debug a seperate issue) and I'd left it like that.
I returned the date&time settings to normal and now it's working!
Maybe this will work for you, maybe not but I haven't seen it mentioned so I thought it would be good to post it
i tryed that but my internet connection still didn't work!
that's what's happening to mine, i have a full wifi signal and everything but still my internet connection didn't work and now i can't use anything without internet access, is it because i used up all my data??? Do you still have data???
Hi,
I am having a strange problem regarding wi-fi access with my iPad4. Once my ipad goes into sleep mode then the signal drops. If I am right beside the wi-fi modem then it can reconnect with no issues. However, if I am in the next room, even though I can see the network and it has a full signal, I cannot connect. I get prompted for a username and password (it doesn't connect when I input them) or I get a message saying "unable to connect".
I have reset the modem multiple times. When I check the set-up of my modem I can see that the iPad is visible and has been assigned and IP address. I have reset the network settings on the iPad multiple times as well. I have also tried changing the DNS settings and turning off proxy. Nothing seems to work.
This problem has only started recently. Anybody got any suggestions as to how I can solve this?
Thanks
Kevin
On ipad I just shutdown and restarted the device and hey presto I got the internet

Thanks for the perfect sollution AnatS, it works for my iPhone 4.
Change DNS to 4.2.2.4 for the wifi ur connected
For me it worked 🙂🙂
Additionally you should first tell them to make sure they have DHCP selected, as it is easily selected bootP or "statisch"(dont know the english word) by complete accident. I have not any idea what either means, but i was also a victim of such things and whereupon selecting DHCP the fone immediately connected.
I am having the same problem with my computer [ OX 10.8.2 ] where it says the wifi is on but then none of the browsers or my Dropbox will work. I've tried deleting and adding a new wifi and then taking down the firewall but nothing will work.
Anyone able to help?
YES THANK YOU!!! IT WORKS!!
stop it
I reset my router to the default settings and now is working perfectly fine! After then I reset it back to my personal settings again with no problems at all!!!
Thank you so much. I rebooted, disconnected from wifi and nothing helped until, I turned off Proxy as you mentioned.
Hello friends, not sure how relevant this is now but I had a similar problem with an Ipad 2 -- could connect to my router (and no, the problem did not lie in my router as numerous other devices worked fine) but no internet access.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
This fixed the problem.
Side note: Apple has a rigorous sign up process...
