The iPad “Pete’s Pad” cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found.

I have been getting this all day. I have tried reducing the number of folders that I want synced from iPhoto, I have done a restore, I have switched USB cables, I have switched both my MacPro and iPad off and on. All to no avail. All software is up to date, double checked. The same error message keeps coming up. Anyone any ideas before I throw both out the window?

MacBookPro5,2, Mac OS X (10.6.3), iPad Model MB294B Version 3.2 There are 65 apps with 4+Gb spare space and I only want 1 Gg of photos

Try deleting the iPod Photo Cache, which is created in the iPhoto database when transferring photos to an iPod, iPhone, and iPad.

With iPhoto 09, quit iPhoto if launched and using the Finder go to Pictures > iPhoto Library.

Control-click on the iPhoto Library and at the menu window that appears, select Show Package Contents.

Locate the iPod Photo Cache folder and delete this folder.

Try syncing photos again. All selected photos will need to be re-optimized again, which will automatically create a new iPod Photo Cache folder in your iPhoto library,

Deleting the iPod Photo Cache did not solve my syncing problems. I've gotten about four different error messages. The latest one states "The iPad "Christi's iPad" cannot be synced. An error occurred while writing to the device." But I've also receive a (-50) error and the one that started this thread.

My iPad initially appears to be syncing and iTunes does the backup. Where it fails is when downloading the apps I've purchased via my iPad. In this process of downloading the new apps into iTunes, my iPad will suddenly stop syncing and go to the Home screen. iTunes will continue to download about 5 more apps and then it throws out a random error message that is never the same one.

I've tried resetting my iPad, restarting my iMac and nothing is working. I'm wondering if one of the latest apps that had an upgrade might have messed things up. Google Earth is one of the ones that got updated today. I can't remember the other 5-6 apps.

Now if I have the iPad connected and restart iTunes, the iPad says it is automatically syncing but only stays on that screen for about 1-2 seconds before returning to the Home screen.

Okay, I racked my brain to try to remember all of the apps that I had either purchased on my iPad since I had last synced and also any apps that I recalled were recently upgraded. I made a list and deleted each one from my iPad.

I also deleted the iPod Photo Cache which was already suggested and turned off all syncing of Photos, Books, Movies and Music.

Finally my iPad synced without giving me any errors. Then I started adding back each of the apps one at a time with a complete sync after each app. I even ran each app in between as well. I did have to go back into the iTunes store on my Mac and "pretend" to purchase the apps again for those I had purchased on my iPad as they were not listed in iTunes yet. I knew I wouldn't get charged for them a second time.

Once I had all my apps back on my iPad, I then turned on my photo syncs and chose only a few pictures at first. Once that worked, I turned on a few more albums.

Then I proceeded to sync all two of my Books.

Finally I have my iPad back up and working and syncing correctly. I'm not sure what exactly got corrupted, but figured since it had been quitting on my while iTunes was attempting to download the apps I had purchased on my iPad directly, that those apps were likely the problem. Downloading them directly from the iTunes store on my iMac seemed to have solved the issue.
