How do I delete Unwanted Email addresses?
Auto-fill in saves them all !
When I start a new email, every email address I've
ever written to pops up (To:) This greatly increases my
chances of sending a new email to the wrong person.
.....there's got to be a way to delete just the addresses
I don't want !....but where & how ?

So, you had luck with the iBackupBot for iTunes

I downloaded the trial version and when it didn't work for that erroneous entry I just quit using it and didn't bother to pay for it.

If the trial version doesn't work do you think it makes a difference on the paid version?

I just checked and I still have the bad entry. I printed off the iBackupBot for iTunes contact folder and went over it several times with no luck.

Could I be looking in the incorrect folder? All other contacts were in the one I checked.

What folder is the correct one?

Like everyone here, I have been trying relentlessly to clear my Iphone 4 of the annoying multitudes of autofill email addresses. Half of them I do not even recognize, nor will I ever email them again so it's been very upsetting to see them on my phone! I searched high and low for an answer to this problem, and came up empty handed each time. I have been SO frustrated. I could not believe that Apple could not provide an answer for this, when clearly the issue is a glitch with the phone itself.

I just want to thank the person ("itkws") who posted the information about iBackupBot! I downloaded the free version also, and followed each step. After all was done, my iTunes opened automatically and completed another sync and then I tentatively opened up my phone to see if everything looked "normal!" To my amazement, it not only looked perfect, but the long list of annoying autofill emails were GONE! Nowhere to be found on my phone!

I am SO VERY GRATEFUL! You saved the day! 🙂

Cheers

I LOVE my iPhone again!

I was going to purchase iBackupBot for iTunes and sent them a message asking a couple of question with NO response.

Does anyone here know if I do purchase it will I be able to install it on all three of my computers which I have Home Sharing in iTunes set up?

This software seems to be the only solution for me and my iPhone.

Thanks.

****! This worked great!!! I have been trying forever to find a way to remove the e-mail cache and this iBackupBot took no more than 5-minutes!! I thought these would go away after configuring my new iPhone4s, however once the phone was restored and setup the e-mail cache came with it 😟 This 3rd party trial version did the trick and I didn't lose any other data. Just remember to follow exactly as posted and you will be fine. Backup your phone first, launch the trial app., select the most recent backup and then go to Plugin>Recent E-mail Addresses. Go ahead and delete what you wish and then restore from that backup from iBackupBot directly.🙂

I did all the above, purchased iBackupBot, found "Recent Email Addresses" and, yes, they're there... except for the one autofill I want to delete! I had a typo on my husband's email address and now when I select his name in Contacts to send a new email I have to choose between the typo address and the right address. Can't find the typo address to delete it!

Wait. I may have answered my own question and created another. I went back into iBackupBot again and noticed there are TWO files for my iPhone with different dates on them. The most recent file has the typo email that I can delete. The later file doesn't. Why are there two files listed on the left pane of the IBackupbot with different dates? Is it pulling from different locations on the PC AND on the iPhone?
