iPad won't turn on...

Had this happen today and am now having to restore my Ipad. This seems to have hit a bunch of people all at the same time. I would really like to know why this is happening my Ipad is only 6 months old. I DONT want this to happen and have the warranty run out. The trick worked...but WHY is this happening?? Any answers would be GREAT. Thanks

I am concerned. I have been very happy with my iPad! What is this business of not starting? Mine did it this morning, and when it came back on I had over 80% battery life. It's in an Apple case and has that way to expensive Zagg or whatever sheeting on front and back.

Why did this happen?
I am not close to capacity on my equiptment?
I do not auto sync anything ... well MobileNoter syncs
Again, are there indications why this happens?

Thank you all so much!!! My iPad had 85% battery life; I walked away for a few minutes, and it would not turn back on when I returned. I knew there had to be a hard reboot solution...and, you guys provided it. I pressed both buttons for about 15-20 seconds, then it came on. You saved me a trip to the Apple Store...

same thing happened to me this morning. I have been using my iPad for exactly one month. I hope there wasn't a bad batch of iPads that are now having problems. I have an iPad class tomorrow at an apple store and will definitely be bringing this up.

BTW, the reboot worked for me too, but for *$900 device*, I sure hope it doesn't occur regularly!

Thank you for posting this. I just encountered the same problem with my 1 month old iPad. This saved me a long trip to the Apple store since it's about 45 minutes away.

Thanks as well. I can't help wondering if perhaps this is an issue with the current OS version?

The trick (home + power button for ten seconds) worked for me too with the same problem. I've had my iPad since Christmas.

But getting a bit ***** that no one from Apple has responded to this thread with a reason why this is happening. If it's a user error, I'd like to make sure I'm not doing something wrong. If it's an iPad error, I want to invoke my AppleCare...

Someone reply if they hear something useful from the fat cats upstairs. And many, many thanks to the forum users who are always helpful (and quick!) with advice and fixes.

Apple doesn't participate here, that's why you haven't (and will not) heard from them in this thread.

thanks for posting this topic! I got nervous last night when after playing a game my iPad won't turn on anymore. and thank God for the back up! i thought that all my app purchases would be gone.
