iOS4 update - now iPhone now reboots during phone call

After about 4 or 5 mins in a phone call my iPhone 3GS reboots itself for no apparent reason. this did not happen before I put the iOS4 update on it. Is the some way I can stop this happening, or revert back to the previous version?

Mine restarted twice today whilst charging - not even being used.

Same problem here. I tried everything.
It is embarrassing.

same problem, tried anything and phone drops every call over 4-5 mins

mine is a business phone and as many have said this is wholly unacceptable.

The best thing to do would be to visit an Apple Store as they may offer you a replacement but as your warranty will now be up you may not get any joy.

Do you have Insurance from O2?

Well if you sell it you'll get about £230 from Mazuma Mobile. I sold my 3G for £150!

Its a no-risk prospect to try to replace the phone. What's the worst they could do? Give you your paperweight back & say "sorry"?

Only heard of previously jailbroken devices rebooting. Have you guys ever jailbroken your device? If not, your device clearly has a problem, and you should take it to an apple store.

I was under the impression that phones didn't have worldwide care and that if there are any problems with the device then it must be returned to the Country of purchase. Maybe this has changed.

I have just been advised to replace the sim card by Apple support, in my opinion I can not see that making any difference. I think they are grasping at straws!

My phone is 22 days out of warranty and is rebooting everytime I make a call over approximately 5 minutes long! Apple support said if replacing the sim did not work then try going to a genius bar....

Well it only gets worse! Today my iPhone rebooted when I was reading my mail! Opened my mail and about 10 seconds after that it rebooted!

One common reason for electronics reboots, is overheating.
If that is the case, then the iPhone clearly has a problem.

a new phone is on its way from apple. Cant fault them on that service.

Now just wondering what software will be on it.
