FedEx mailed me an empty box..

I was able to pre-order my iPhone 4 on day one and waited for it to arrive today. After signing for my package I walked into my house and realized the tape was broken on the box and nothing was inside the package. The FedEx was already long gone. I called Apple and they told me they would contact me back in 24 hours by email. I made sure the lady made a note that said I wanted them to call me.

She said they will probably mail me another iPhone but has no idea when. I was beyond ******. I asked if she can reserve me a phone in any store and I would pick it up tomorrow and she said that isn't possible.

It has been many hours and no one has contacted me. I also called FedEx and let them know about my problem. They promised to call the driver of the truck and the station he picked the package up from to locate my iPhone. They said they would call me back before the end of the day. It is now 9pm and no call.

I'm not exactly sure what to do. I can't believe I was delivered an opened package and the FedEx guy said nothing when handing it to me. I assume I'll have to wait till mid next month before they actually ship me one. Sigh.

I was just wondering the same thing. After 13 days of waiting since I first called in the missing phone, I received my first call from the Apple investigations team. He was very polite and helpful and has assured me the investigation is well under way and he should have an update for me in the next few days.

This has taken much longer than I had hoped or was originally informed it would, but at least they are making progress and not planning to leave me high and dry.

Let us know if anyone gets notice of their replacement being shipped!

I'm an authoried user, my wife is the account holder an I had NO problem getting an iPhone on the 29th when it was released at AT&T stores. I called the store and AT&T customer service prior to going and was advised of this. All you need is the acct. holders name, last 4 of ss# and you have to be listed as an authorized user on the account. In and out of the store in 10 minutes.

Thanks for the info, so me being an Authorized user, I should not have a problem walking in and buy an iphone 4.

Since I've got the time (won't be back to U.S.A until the 5th of August) so I have about 2-3 weeks before I can order it online or just wait till I get there. But I prefer just walking into the store and have it on my hands when I purchase it instead of waiting for Fex ex to deliver.

I was just informed today that Apple has refunded my purchase of the phone and will be resetting my upgrade eligibility soon. Then I will have to buy the phone like everyone else at a store or order online. It would be helpful if they could send me one quicker or reserve it at the store but at least I should finally be getting my phone next week!

Just letting everyone know I finally was able to purchase an iphone 4 in the Apple store yesterday. The high up apple reps reserved me a phone at the store after processing my refund. Then I spent several hours dealing with AT&T getting my contract and eligibility reset, which finally was fixed after 2 hrs in their store.

This was quite an ordeal for me but I am glad to say that after 3 weeks of dealing with all of this I finally have my phone and I am happy!

(On another note, the signal drop off is definitely real but a case will fix that. I like the phone way too much to let that upset me.)

I know it doesn't help you guys much now, but when I pre-ordered from an AT&T store, I was given the option of having the package shipped to my home or to the AT&T store. I chose the store, since I was going to be at work during the day.

Its another layer, but if there are a number of phones going to one location, the odds of it being YOUR phone decreases.

Same problem here. FedEx delivery handed me the box. The box was clearly forced open (tape ripped). I handed back the empty box to the delivery person and he told me to contact FedEx and Apple. These thefts are taking place within FedEx's distribution process. This ***** that I waited over one month for an empty box!

THIS JUST HAPPENED TO ME...today!!! FEDEX is in no hurry to help AND apple made me feel like a criminal trying to get a free $400 IPHONE4 which is what I was expecting today as a wedding present...I am getting married this week!!! I am left with an empty box an no timetable when I "may" get my replacement. What the **** "Apple"? I know it's not your fault "hopefully" and there is something within FEDEX that is screwing your customers, but you should have some kind of safety net to take care of your LOYAL customers when this happens to help us get us taken care of and then go deal with your incapable shipping service (FEDEX)....
Sincerly,
A ****** apple customer of 10 years!!
