iPhoto cant import video from iphone 4

I had the same issue. What I discovered is that on the iPhone, the camera was set to video. When I set it to the still camera setting, iPhoto imported the stills and video. Problem solved.

I did the reboot i4 and that sure enough fixed the issue I was having. I was receiving the message after doing a handful of video recordings.

It didn't seem to not have much love for either long videos (I recorded 5 separate videos in 3 minutes total) or iMovie camera rolls (two experimented 3 minute combinations).

If it is the video must be set to photo shooting, then that's another bug in the i4 system.

I'm having the same problem. iPhoto is not referencing the correct photos/videos to download and then throws the same error. I've tried all solutions posted in this thread and here http://www.calpernia.com/iphoto-wont-import-iphone-4-media-a-fix/
with no luck.

This bug is really bad. A solution is needed and pronto. Anything else working for others? Apple any fix planned soon?

I experienced this exact same issue with my iPhone 4 and iPhoto. Same error messages. Same "wire frame" import page with no actual photos present.

I rebooted my MBP and restarted the iPhone4, reconnected and that fixed the problem.

Spoke with an apple customer service agent who solved my problem. I was having the same issue and after trying a few things we found the solution. Hold your power off button down and the home button together till it passed the option to use the slide bar to power down. It will go to black screen. Once you see the black screen let go of the buttons. Your iphone should either totally power down to restart. Once it restarts or you have to restart you phone it should let you upload you videos and/or photos as
normal. Hope this works for you.

I was having the same issue, I did a quick soft reset as Darrell described in his reply and it did the trick. I was getting really worried. I'm curious to see if it happens again and how often I'll need to restart the phone. Hope a real fix is coming soon.

so it seems that the issue is between certain macs and certain iPhones. I had no issue importing video onto my Powerbook, but still can't import directly from my iPhone to my iMac. I can import from the desktop to iPhoto on my iMac, but only when I import the video from my Powerbook to my iMac desktop. Weird and frustrating.

Hi. Have you tried trimming the video on iPhone (just take a second off beginning and end of your video) and saving that as a new video then try transferring that to computer? Alternately try a hard reset of iPhone of holding down power button at top and home button at same time. Just my 2 cents. Good luck

I had this exact same problem and rebooted my phone and it worked like a charm!

still having the same issue. Rebooted several times, repaired permissions etc, but nothing. Is anyone else still having this issue. Annoying having to import vid through my powerbook.
