iPhoto cant import video from iphone 4

So i cant import any video to iphoto from my iPhone 4. It gives me a error stating

"Error Downloading image.
iPhoto cannot import your photos
because there was a problem downloading an image"

Image capture wont work either.

I've tried deleting everything from the camera roll. Shoot another video and connect and I still get the same error..

Thanks in advance

I found that what helped in my situation was to remove the photos taken with the Hipstamatic app. Once I did that, iPhoto recognized the videos and allowed me to import them.

Unfortunately, iTunes asked that I restore my phone back to factory settings before I could sync my phone again, but iPhoto was able to import the videos/photos before iTunes started restoring (thank god!).

Hope this helps!

Step 1: Unplug your iP4 from your computer.

Step 2: Hold down the home button and the sleep/wake button for 10 seconds. Aka Hard Reset.

Step 3: Quit all applications on your Mac including iTunes and iPhoto. (Make sure "automatically open itunes" is unchecked before quitting the application)

Step 4: Open both iTunes and iPhoto.

Step 5: Turn iP4 on.

Step 6: Once iP4 is done loading up plug it in to your computer.

Step 7: Click on import photos.

This worked for me as previously listed earlier in this post. I hope this helps for anyone else.

I would like to know if those who are saying a reboot of their computer solved the problem are just restarting the computer or actually doing whole reinstall of OSX. Its seems people are having the same problem for different reasons.
I still currently have the problem of not being able to import any video from my iphone. Photos will sometimes go threw but video is a no go..
Ive tried all the steps mentioned as well as spoke to apple care 4 times. With no solution.
The only thing i have not tried was reinstalling OSX on my iMac since i Have not done a back up in sometime.

Like ive stated before. I have tried the phone on a friends Mac and everything imported fine. So im convinced that the problem is not with the phone.( I have 2 iphone 4's giving me a problem) but i problem with iPhoto or OSX its self

I hate to say I am having the same problem - this iPhone 4 is far from the quality products I've always purchased from Apple. At home, holding the phone in my left hand (the "normal" way) goes to "Searching" - so I bought a bumper case. No every day I'm having trouble importing when I shoot video on my iPhone 4. Reboots don't help. I NEVER had a problem like this on my past iPhones.

Found a fix that works for me - I removed iMovie from my iphone, powered it down, then restarted the phone. I was then able to import everything with no issues into iPhoto. I then reinstalled iMovie on the iPhone and took a few test photos and a couple 30-second video clips - everything still works. Tomorrow I'll try shooting some longer videos and see if the problem is still taken care of.

My guess is that the first version of iMovie did something to my iPhone to cause video files recorded (even though not edited with iMovie) to appear as an incompatible format for iPhoto. About a week ago an update to iMovie was posted, perhaps that one doesn't have this problem.

Hope this helps others!

Try to to get your videos off your IPhone

Connect your iPhone to your computer's USB port with the USB cable that came with iPhone Packaging

1. Open My Computer
2. Click your iPhone when its connected
3. Click your the Drive button
4. Go to the DCIM folder
5. Click the folder there and let all your photos load
Now Drag and drop all the photos into a new folder on your desktop and there you go your iPhone photos are now on your computer
