Iphone 4, iOS 4
My iPhone7 has constantly stoped vibrating all of a sudden between notifications and incoming calls.... maybe because I got a few drops of water in it but it should be water resistance of 1m. If I try pressing onto the home button it doesn't vibrate.

My iphone shut down today after 3 days since purchase i thought i had a message but the screen was off and it was constantly vibrating, wouldnt turn on or off and it would not go into dfu, i plugged it in to pc and it wasnt recognised, so i let it use the battery until it died (4hrs) 😟 then plugged it in and it woke up as if nothing happened, has anyone else had this problem and apple do you have a fix or is it a common fault until software update, hope it doesnt happen again as i need my phone incase of emergency for kids! Cheers
I'm so glad you posted this. Mine did it yesterday. Thought I was the only one. I let the battery drain last night and plugged it in this morning like you said. It worked!!
Has apple made any reply to this? Sounds like it is not an isolated issue.
I was only just raving about how Ive had mine for 5 months and not a single issue. Seems I spoke too soon.
I just had the same problem..
Blank screen, vibrating, no response.
I pushed the buttom in the top and the home bottom and holded them down for 10 sec. Then it rebooted.
hope it does not continue - i have had my Iphone 4 for 7 month
I had same issue last week. Out of nowhere, my phone started vibrating continuously with a blank screen. it didn't respond to any thing (including plugging it in/connecting to PC) and eventually died down after good 5-10 min. When I plugged it in again the next morning it started as if nothing went wrong.
Faced no issues since then, still, this is obviously an issue they need to know about!
I've just had the same thing happen. Phone sitting on the table in front of me started vibrating uncontrollably for about 2 minutes (blank screen) then died. Held power & home button down for 30 seconds and it rebooted ok. Have Apple posted a reply about this issue to anyone?
Same thing happened to me today: I tried to silence an incoming call, but then the phone vibrated for 2 minutes and then went dead. I followed the suggestions I found here (pressing Home and power buttons at the same time) and it rebooted. Seems to be working fine...for now. Any idea what causes this behavior?
I just had the exact same problem. I held down the home and power button and it rebooted so weird. Thank you so much for posting feedback.
I'll chime in with the same issue. Have had the phone since the iPhone 4 came out, so I guess that's about a year to 1.5 years? Today it started vibrating after I had declined a call. Actually scared me. Wouldn't stop. I gathered my senses, did a reset with the on button and the home button, and now it seems to be working. Funny that this has been reported in the support forums (just discovered that fact) for a long time now. What's the deal? Should I get a new phone? I use this for my work and am totally disabled if I don't have my iPhone. Subsequent backup apparently went normally, and it doesn't seem to be broken or otherwise "impaired." It brought to mind the old "spinning beach ball of death" we ran into with some of the old Macs. Sure would like to know what this phenomenon is all about, for the sake of curiosity if nothing else.
Thank goodness for the support communities. My iPhone 4 I have had for 15mos just did this. I did a quick Google search on this exact problem and this forum popped up. I followed the instructions of holding down the center button and sleep button and it rebooted and it appears normal now.
For any others after the initial incident has it happened again?
It happened to me just the once, I've had my iPhone for a year.
