Iphone 4 people cant hear me during calls.

I recently have been having issues with people hearing me when i call them or i receive their calls. My sound works perfectly through Facetime and thru mic apps. What gives? Do I need to return my iphone to have this fixed? Resetting has not fixed the problem. =(

I made some calls to the head manager of the company I bought my from from and they replaced my phone in the store. I came home and restored my backup and everything works great. 🙂 On the phone they told me they had never heard of this problem but when i took it into the store I heard the same guy say "this is the same problem we've had with a few others lately" to his co worker.

apple care was really fast. they took my ip4 on monday, tuesday it was in holland and today it's just came back... the only problem it's the fact that they didn't do anything. they ran the basic tests, they didn't find the symptoms i described (like they wrote to me in the email on tuesday) and so they give me back my ip4 just like i sent to them. but right when i took the phone today i tried a call and the issue remains...so i called again the apple care service and tomorrow they are goning to pick my phone up another time for another ride to holland... i hope this time they will look better...

I made a reservation at the Genius Bar at Applestore Sydney & the phone has been replaced.

The guy seemed to know that my microphone was defective when I explained the problem. We tested it in the store, and I got a replacement in 15 minutes.

FWIW, the problems with original iPhone were:
Other person cannot hear me when I speak into the microphone (like a pizza slice).
Other person can hear me if I click the speakerphone icon on the screen and I talk into the phone (like a pizza slice).
Voice Recorder can record my voice, but very very softly only.
Can't seem to get Skype Call Test to record my voice no matter what I do.
Tried restoration.

I had the same problem with an iPhone I bought last Friday. No Microphone during calls, no voice-recording in Memo-Apps and so on. Only exception: when switching on the speakers during a call, people could hear me. Tried out everything without success, until the device was changed this morning into a new one when I brought it back to Apple Store. With the new device, everything works fine.

I have the same problem. Other people can't hear me on calls, I can hear them. The microphone is fine in other apps such as the voice recorder. Doesn't even work with the mic on the earphones or on speakerphone.

Tapping a few times temporarily solves it, but a fix is needed - hardware or software.

Guess I will go to the Genius Bar on Thursday and ask them to fix it. :/

Hello guys,

I'm from Brazil, have my iphone 4 just a week and I'm having exactly the same issue. When I call someone or someone call me, the other person can't hear me. The only way to do people hear me is to talk very close to the microphone. So the people can hear me for 1 minute or less... then I've to do it again

I did not let my iphone fall, I did a hard restore, just a restore, I turned off the 3G the wifi... nothing works!

Yesterday I did a 2nd restore and it works for 2 calls and after that started happening again. =/

As all of you... I still don't know if it's an hardware or a software issue but it's really driving me frustrating, cuz I've an R$1300 phone that can't make or receive calls!

I don't know what to do, cuz here in Brazil there's no Apple store. The iphone are sold by the celphone companies and they won't do me a replacement.

I'll try sending to an authorized service an see if can do something for me.

I'll let you know!

Iphone 4 people cant hear me during calls.
