MacBook Pro 2018 Random Restart > Previous shutdown cause: -20

I have MacBook Pro 2018 (Mojave 10.14.1) just brought it 3 weeks ago,


now i have random restart when i use it.


i only browse internet, play spotify but suddenly the screen goes black and it restarted.


it's very annoying, knowing im not use it for heavy task.


im checking with


log show --predicate 'eventMessage contains "Previous shutdown cause"' --last 24h


Result :

I searched on the internet about this -20 shutdown code, but i can't find the answer.


Had a chat with apple.support, i did SMC Reset but the problem still persist.


Is it a new kind of shutdown code from Mojave? Since

I can't find any answer on the internet, please help :(


Any opinion and solution will be appreciated, thanks!

SOLVED


I think the problem is caused from an App, i can't find which app that cause the random reboots, but i suspect its from iStat Menus that broke my OS (that's the last software i installed, but i don't know for sure).

So what i did is cleaned up all my drives (format), then i use Internet Recovery (Command (⌘) – Option (⌥) – R) because i want the cleanest install possible.

Since then i haven't encounter any -20 shutdown anymore!


In conclusion, i think it's because software issue that have a link into the OS itself so it caused all the troubles.
