iPhone XR won’t play through Bluetooth on F150

Just bought an IPhone XR - hooked it up to my older F150 Bluetooth and phone works but when I try to play my music or podcasts... it won’t play through the Bluetooth stereo? I hooked it up to a another Bluetooth device (non vehicle) and seems to work?

When trying to play Music, the IPhone just skips through songs like someone is pushing the next song button - you can actually see it scrolling through songs on the phone?

Need help as I am in a trial period with the phone and will return it if there isn’t a solution!
