iTunes doesn't recognize my phone although I have 12.8 version

I just bought iPhone 8/

I have MacPro Yosemite 10.10.5

iTunes version 12.8

When I tried to sync my iPhone with iTunes it asks me to "To use your iPhone with iTunes, you need to install OS X 10.11.4 (or later)." . BUT when I go to software updates i receive a message " No updates available " so Im stack !!!!

What should I do - i want to sync my iTunes with all my music and other staff but Im in a dead end .

What should I do ?????

iOS 12 requires iTunes 12.8 or better running on OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan or better. See How to upgrade to OS X El Capitan - Apple Support to check if upgrading is feasible.

If you can't/won't upgrade then a workaround for music is to use iTunes Match or Apple Music, and use iCloud for backup and data transfer.
