Airpods case doing weird things

So the light isn't working when it's unplugged (like there's no light) and the info never shows up on my phone like it's supposed to. But I know it's charged 100% cause when I plug it in sometimes it does show up and says 100%. When the info is on my phone and the case is plugged in with the airpods in it, if I unplug the case the case goes away on my phone and shows the pods as not charging. So they just won't charge. Back to the case, when I do plug it in, it sometimes shows amber but then just blinks green after a few seconds. It blinks green for a few seconds then just goes off like it is when it's not plugged in. This seems like it came out of nowhere, nothing has happened to my airpods case recently. Sorry if it's a bit convoluted.
