Portrait mode not saving as portrait mode pic.

so I have the new iPhone XS on the newest IOS as of 12/11/18. I have been having this problem where pictures are taken in portrait mode, but not saved that way. I’ve been scouring the web trying to figure this out. Here is a fix that worked for me.

In the camera app, before you take the pic, touch the 3 round color icon thing. Too right of center. Not sure what’s it’s called. It’s grey on mine initially. Pick any setting other than original. Take your pic. Should save as portrait.

good luck. Let’s hope Apple fixes this to make it more user intuitive. That’s one of the reasons we spent so much on these phones.
