I used to order beautiful books via Photos on my MacBookPro (Version earlier 2011). It runs on MacOS Sierra. I spent three weeks working hard on preparing a new Book for Christmas and for my family. Photos allowed me to do so, till it requested me to sign in and pay.

Instead of allowing me to pay, Photos gave me the message above: Upgrade required....

So basically, I am totally blocked. There is no version of Photos for my Macbook Pro available, I cannot share my Project to icloudsharing and order it via an other device running an earlier version of Photos and I cannot install the so called "Extensions"???

Why did Apple do not inform users about this change or propose an easier solution?

What can I do?

Thanks,

Yvan

I turned the post into a User Tip for easy reference.

Ordering Books and Calendars on a Mac that cannot be upgrade past El Capitan

The filter for User Tips on "My Subscriptions" does not show any of our old User Tips, so I started to save updated user tips as new user tips that can be found by filtering for User Tips.

It looks like we will have to recreate most of the old user tips, because trying to edit them will break the formatting, and the code of the Apple Scripts got corrupted.
