jooemrp,

What your image is showing is the FileVault icon. If you have forgotten your FileVault password you can use the information from the article below to reset the it:

Use FileVault to encrypt the startup disk on your Mac - Apple Support

"Reset your password or change your FileVault recovery key

If you forget your account password or it doesn't work, you might be able to reset your password.

If you want to change the recovery key used to encrypt your startup disk, turn off FileVault in Security & Privacy preferences. You can then turn it on again to generate a new key and disable all older keys".

Regards.

Hello jooemrp,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

I understand from your post that when you start your MacBook Air up you receive a message that says you need to enter a password to unlock your Macintosh HD. What you are describing sounds like a firmware password may have been set up. The following article has information on what to do if you have forgotten your firmware password:

How to set a firmware password on your Mac - Apple Support

If you forgot your firmware password

If you can't remember your firmware password or passcode, schedule an in-person service appointment with an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider. Bring your Mac to the appointment, and bring your original receipt or invoice as proof of purchase.

Best Regards.

i try to follow the instruction to turn off FileVaults, but the turn off button is disable :

also, the disk name is diffrent from the pop up that appear when i turn on my macbook (look at the disk name)

the disk name that i want to decrypt is the "Machintosh HD", the disk name that appear in the FileVault tab (pict1) is "macOs Mojave Public Beta"
