Previously, when my screen saver was going with photos, I was able to go forward or backward through the photos if I wished by using the keyboard left and right arrow keys. Now, they just close the screen saver. A new bug or "feature" in the latest Mojave update?

Yes, this is a real bummer: since Mojave , it is no longer possible for third-party screensavers to access the photos stored in the Photos app. I have researched and tried a lot of things, to no avail.
(Note, this limitation only applies to 3rd party screensavers, not to regular apps, and, of course, not to Apple's own screensavers.)
Please request Apple to bring this feature back (for 3rd party screensavers).
In the meantime, what you can do is:
export all the photos from Photos.app to a separate, regular folder; then point ArtSaver to that folder.
I have the same problem. My iMac is in the kitchen area and it's nice to see all of our family pics rotating randomly. When we see a picture we like we used to use the fwd/back key on keyboard and were able to look at pics we just saw without having to find it through PHOTOS. It was an amazing feature!
Sometimes, I hope someone in APPLE would scan through those forums and listen to our feedbacks after updates.

I wrote it myself, it runs under High Sierra, but should also run under Mojave.
It has arrow keys, and and you can pause it by pressing the space bar - I hope they also work under Mojave.

I take all mac updates and this has only happened to me since the last update in the last couple of weeks. Still disappointing though - I too loved this feature - all the family sat around for dinner with the slideshow playing in the background - we often scroll back to a picture we've just seen.
That's why I posted the feedback link. So you could let Apple know.

You need to address Apple with your suggestions.
There is no one from Apple here. We are all end users and do not work for Apple.

Screen savers are part of the OS.
Dialabrain, I used all the OS' from 2012 thru the present. High Sierra was fine, and I believe the initial Mojave release was too. I use my own photo folders in the OS X screen saver within system preferences.
Please reinstate this function. I like to review my screensaver random pics. It worked fine on mojave, until i had to restore my OS. Now when I click on left right arrows it puts me back to desktop. Very annoying.

We loved being able to look back or forward at the pictures. Please bring it back! I talked with Apple Support tonight and they were unaware that this capability ever existed. They insisted I must have some third-party app that allowed it.
